FSDB offering three summer camp programs

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is offering three summer camp programs for eligible students for 2015. The application deadline for all programs is Wednesday, June 10.

Summer Quest Camp, June 21-26

This overnight camp is open to students age 8-14 who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired and reside in Florida (non-FSDB students). Campers will explore St. Augustine as it approaches its 450th anniversary. Activities include local attractions and historical sites as well as general recreational activities such as arts and crafts, kayaking, performing arts, swimming and team-building. The camp program is supervised at all times with provision of health care services as needed. Meals in the school cafeteria and snacks are included.

Summer Explorers Camp, June 28-July 3

This overnight camp is open to students age 13-17 who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired and reside in Florida (non-FSDB students). The camp is designed to discover St. Augustine's 450-year history. Recreational activities include arts and crafts, kayaking, swimming, performing arts and leadership exercises. The camp program is supervised at all times with provision of health care services as needed. Meals in the school cafeteria and snacks are included.

Summer Day Camp, June 22-July 3

This day camp is open to deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired students, ages 5-12, who are currently enrolled at FSDB or who reside in St. Johns County. Five-year-olds must have completed kindergarten before they can be signed up. Campers will have a full schedule of activities such as arts and crafts, games, kayaking, swimming and team sports. The program runs 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and includes lunch in the school cafeteria. Transportation is not provided.
