Obama's Twitter account breaks world record
President Obama has only held his own Twitter account for roughly two days, yet it's already set a world record.
According to Guinness World Records, Obama's @POTUS account became the fastest to reach 1 million followers, hitting the milestone in under five hours.
Obama beat Avengers actor Robert Downey Jr., who joined Twitter last year and amassed 1 million followers in just under 24 hours.
Technically, this isn't Obama's introduction to Twitter, since many of his prior tweets were often sent through the official account for The White House. "Six years in and they're finally giving me my own account," wrote Obama in his first tweet under the @POTUS handle.
