ORLANDO (AP) — Officials with Florida's Department of Agriculture say 103 skimmer devices that are used for identity theft have been discovered at more than 7,500 gas stations it inspected.
The agency announced its findings Tuesday. The report comes after three months of investigation by inspectors who visited 7,571 stations in a statewide sweep.

The criminals found a gold mine when these skimmers were installed. Florida population mostly seniors. The crooks knew where the money was.
Your right over 1% of gas stations were effected, but there would not have been a skimmer on each pump. So if each gas station had 4 pumps, then the odds are down to 0.34%
Clearly prefere these things not be there and with 3d printers making false fronts gets even easier.

Go inside and/or pay with cash. (no skimmers inside the store) If you don't trust the emplyee(s), pay with cash.
What is your evidence to support your statement that there are no skimmers inside the store?

How do you prove a negative? That's sort of a ridiculous question.....what's the point in asking it? Just pay cash...problem solved.
I think it's probably harder to install skimmers inside the store since that has a clerk in there. But yeah, unless they tested the ATMs inside the store then there's no way to know for sure.
