As things start hotting up, this is how to transform your garden in one day no matter what its size

WE'RE keeping our fingers crossed that the sun will come out soon, so it's time to start reviving your outdoor space.

1 Paint your wall or fence a deep shade to create the perfect back drop.

2 An outdoor mirror adds light and creates a feeling of space.

3 For a luxe vibe and a pop of colour without having to change your flooring, try an outdoor rug.

4 Mix and match pots that look a little worn so your garden feels lived-in. Plus, they'll look even better when they age.

5 Try framing a succulent in an old photo frame for your own living wall.

6 A variety of lights will add cosiness and create a festival feel - the more, the better.

7 Buy a big palm to give height and that holiday vibe.

Fire pits are the must-have this summer for outdoor entertaining and there are loads of styles to choose from.

But if your space is small or particularly windy, you're better off sticking with a chiminea. Otherwise you may well end up with ash in your face. Not so cool.

Solar lighting has finally got a bit more stylish too - you can even get an indoors-y feel with this solar floor lamp from Ikea.

And the best thing? Many will now switch on automatically as soon as the sun sets.

Hanging planters are going nowhere.

And everyone can grow a window box of herbs like thyme, sage, basil, rosemary and chives. But remember to grow mint in a separate pot as it likes to overtake everything!
