STRANGE footage has emerged of a mysterious UFO moving and changing shape in the sky over Sweden.

The intriguing footage was captured by baffled motorists inside the city of Gothenburg.

The unusual video has triggered online speculation as to whether the footage is conclusive proof of extra-terrestrial life.

The footage, captured by onlookers travelling in their car, shows an unidentified flying object move through the sky and appear to change shape.

Theories as to what the mysterious object is have started to circulate online, with many users claiming it to be another alien sighting.

The number of UFO sightings is currently flying at an all-time high, according to data cruncher and blogger Sam Monfort.

But some users have suggested it is most likely a flying truck balloon that opens the Logistics and Transport trade fair in Gothenburg.

The hot air balloon first flew over the city in 2015 and this year's fair finished on November 7, a day after the footage emerged online.

Yesterday, a bizarre video of a passenger plane "suspended in mid-air" sparked wild theories as to the explanation for the optical illusion.
