The 10th Birmingham Bowl will take place Dec. 30 at Legion Field, the bowl announced Thursday.

This year's game will kick off at 11 a.m. Central as part of a bowl tripleheader on ESPN. It will once again pair teams from the SEC and American Athletic Conference.

The Birmingham Bowl had been played in early January the last six years. The first three editions of the game, previously known as the PapaJohns.com Bowl and the BBVA Compass Bowl, were played in December.

Florida beat East Carolina 28-20 in last season's game, which took place Jan. 3. Tickets to this year's game go on sale Oct. 1.
