The University of Ottawa says it's men's hockey program will start again in 2016.

The school suspended its men's varsity program after allegations of sexual assault by two team members in Thunder Bay in February of 2014.

On Wednesday the school announced the program would be reinstated for the 2016-2017 season with behavioural guidelines for all athletes, coaches and support staff for all of its athletics.

"The measures address recommendations made after an extensive examination of procedures, practices and culture following the suspension of the program. They provide student-athletes, coaches, administration and support staff in all varsity and competitive club sports with the guidance and support necessary to ensure respectful and appropriate conduct," A media release from the school states.

David Foucher and Guillaume Donovan, both of Gatineau, Que., each face one count of sexual assault.

The case is making its way through the court system, but so far none of those charges have been tested.
