Join Architecture Center Houston, Houston Cinema Arts Society, Alamo Beer and legendary Houston punk band the Mydolls for a special screening of Wim Wenders award winning film Paris, Texas at Axelrad.
The show starts at sun down (approximately 9pm) with a brief Q&A and special introduction by the Mydolls and actor Hunter Carson.

Paris, Texas is a 1984 drama directed by Wim Wenders and starring Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Nastassja Kinski, Hunter Carson and featuring the Mydolls. The screenplay was written by L.M. Kit Carson and playwright Sam Shepard.
After an absence of 4 years, Travis Henderson suddenly reappears in a deserted part of south Texas. His brother Walt fetches him and he is soon reunited with his son Hunter. He can't really explain why he's been away or why he's suddenly reappeared. Walt has been raising Travis' son Hunter and it takes a while for the two of them to get reacquainted. They eventually set off together to find Jane, Travis' wife and Hunter's mother. She is found working in a peep show in Houston but a happy family reunion isn't in the cards...
The film won the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival, as well as the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury.

Mydolls (1978-present), Houston’s original femme punk band, was formed in 1978 by guitarist and vocalist Trish Herrera, bassist Dianna Ray, guitarist and vocalist Linda Younger and drummer George Reyes. As one of the earliest art punk bands in Houston, Mydolls created a DIY sound that was as ethereal, fluid and poetic as it was politically charged and feminist. Throughout their nearly 40-year history, these pioneering musicians have paved a path for women and minorities in the music and arts scenes, and they continue to perform today with their original lineup. During the 1980s, Mydolls were interviewed by John Peel on BBC Radio and performed in Wim Wenders’ Cannes award-winning film Paris, Texas. Mydolls and the Houston punk scene were the focus of a 2016 music-based lecture series at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and the band most recently performed as part of the SPEAKEASY experimental music and art program series at Lawndale Art Center in Houston. Their latest EP, It’s Too Hot for Revolution, was released as a collectible red vinyl edition in February 2017.
