Facebook is testing an option for users in India to save videos for watching offline at a later stage. The idea is to resolve the problem many users have of poor Internet connections.

Clearly, it's a limited trial right now, and Facebook did not comment on if and when it might be rolled out to a wider audience.

Only original videos posted on personal Facebook accounts and on the social network’s pages can be downloaded. Facebook Tests Saving Videos for Watching Offline [bloomberg.com]

I sometimes travel to areas without WiFi where I'd love to stream large media files, but don't want that going against my data cap. This could be quite handy in situations like that. It's a lot easier for most users to add something to a "view later" queue rather than figuring out how to manually load those files onto their device.
