So the 2015 Cannes Film Festival came and went, concluding this weekend on Sunday 24th of May with some of the best fashion the South of France has ever seen.

Below is our round up of some of the best ensembles that hit Cannes, as spied on the most stylish people in film, music and fashion – from Lupita Nyong’o’s glamourous green look, to Rita Ora’s fun prints and Zoe Kravitz’s edgy-yet-sophisticated style;

First up, gorgeous Kenyan supermodel and philantrophist (read about her latest project, here), Liya Kebede was seen at Cannes’ opening ceremony, wearing a chic, metallic look from Louis Vuitton.

The fun outfit included unusual shapes – the flared sleeves and exaggerated shoulders balanced by pointy, black heels – and showed another side to Ms Kebede’s style personality that we reckon we quite like.

In yet another daring look, the model was seen wearing a multi-textured and embellished dress by Proenza Schouler for the premier of Mad Max: Fury Road.

The ensemble – busy, fun, care-free and reminding us of tinsel – was expertly styled with simple, strappy sandals, Repossi jewels and a centre parting to Liya’s hair, and Team SPICE concur the model can do no wrong when getting dressed.

Also on the carpet for Mad Max, South African actress Charlize Theron looked radiant in her canary yellow gown by Dior, standing out of the A-list crowd and from the red carpet, too.

We at SPICE fell for how well this dress fits Ms Theron’s frame and love how her hair was styled to match the trailing, asymmetrical tail of the dress. Perfection.

Another standout look came from the usual suspect, Lupita Nyong’o – the Kenyan actress and star in the upcoming Star Wars film (more on that, here) being spied while glowing in green for Cannes’ opening ceremony.

Wearing a floral embellished Gucci gown and the now famous ‘Fronut’ (see how to nail that, here), Ms Nyong’o near broke the internet again and gave us more reason to love seeing her on the red carpet.

But that wasn’t all from Lupita, as the star was seen flaunting her fabulous wardrobe while out and about at Cannes, too – this time rocking all white with an Oscar De La Renta chiffon dress.

The pleated and cutout look was completed by a fun pair of shades and animal print kitten heels, leaving Lupita looking her usual, feminine and cool self.

Attending the premiere for The Little Prince, top model Jourdan Dunn wore a beautifully-fitted Ralph & Russo Spring/Summer’15 gown, that both showed off her shoulders and slim waist.

The beauty looked like a true bombshell in this gown, paired with Chopard jewels and we at SPICE are left enviously gazing at images of her.

Ms Dunn’s model colleague, Joan Smalls donned a daring two-piece by Alaïa for her first red carpet appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, looking as effortlessly beautiful as the outfit was easy and breezy, for the premiere of Youth.

We at SPICE love how relaxed this look is and how it was matched by bouncing, loose waves.

Did you see what Karlie Kloss wore to Cannes’ opening ceremony though? Just wow to those cutouts…

Team SPICE couldn’t get enough of the model’s slinky, metallic dress from Versace, and how it was perfectly paired with shiny, silver and pointed courts. A glittering red carpet ensemble if ever we saw one.

Also rocking a Versace gown, model Natasha Poly stepped out in an attention-grabbing look consisting of a teeny, tiny black bodice and oversized, full skirt.

The gown looks to be held together by a pair of metallic belts and between that and the giant front split, it’s a wonder Ms Poly avoided any wardrobe malfunctions. She did however nail looking like a total bombshell.

Another model whose South of France look we loved last week came from Chanel Iman, who was seen out and about in a powder blue Barbara Bui number.

The beauty wore her hair in a high pony and battled the wind with her contrasting black details – her strappy shoes matching the strappy cutout to the front of the dress. So chic!

Yet another model, Daria Strokous also stopped hearts while in Cannes – the Russian stunner wearing a textured Luisa Beccaria gown accessorised with  Swarovski jewels and a Paula Cademartori clutch for the premiere of Sicario.

The overall effect was Disney Princess-amounts of breathtaking, with Team SPICE loving the hue against the model’s complexion and the contrast between the tight bodice and exaggerated skirt.

noemie-lenoir-vogue-14may15-getty_b_426x639

The second canary yellow look on our list came from model Noémie Lenoir, who brought her baby bump to the red carpet in a flowing Chloe number.

The sexy look (like, check out those daring, draped sides) was worn with a curly up ‘do and sandals, and left everyone jealous of the ample amounts of Ms Lenoir’s glowing skin on show. #Gorgeous!

doutzen-kroes-vogue-19may15-getty-b_426x639

Last on our model list from Cannes, is the unforgettable Doutzen Kroes, who wore a sleek Calvin Klein suit for the brand’s ‘Women in Film’ party last week.

We love the colour, we love the oil slick texture… We just love this look.

Rita-Ora

Also doing her thing in a suit, British singer Rita Ora was caught in her usual stylish attire, being seen a striking ensemble as she headed to Cannes’ Gotha Club for one of the last events at the festival.

Wearing a multi-hued Versace twinset, accessorised with blue pointed stilettos and matching eyeshadow, the star looked just amazing and as on point as ever.

Another colourful look came from actress Emily Blunt, who wore a multi-hued Peter Pilotto look from the label’s Autumn/Winter’15 collection.

The ensemble showed up to the Sicario photo call in Cannes, ahead of the film’s premiere, and left all who saw the outfit re-thinking ways to play with colour.

Also going the playful route, actress Sienna Miller – who wore many great gowns to the 2015 Cannes Festival – showed up in a memorable kite-patched dress by Valentino.

From the label’s Spring/Summer’5 couture range, the gown was sheer and strappy and overly whimsical, but we at SPICE think that the star just about pulled it off.

naomi-watts-vogue-18may15-getty_b_426x639

Fellow actress, Naomi Watts was also out to stun, wearing a chic Spring/Summer’15 Armani Prive gown to the premiere of The Sea of Trees.

The pretty, ruffled dress was one-shouldered and bore an embroidered palm print, complimented by simple black sandals – a timeless look that we admired on the star and one that brought elegance over extravagance to the Cannes red carpet.

Girl of the moment, Zoe Kravitz did elegant while at Cannes too, seen in a grown up look that proved another side to the singer’s style prowess.

The young star looked feminine and just gorgeous in her flower-embellished, strapless dress – custom-made by Balenciaga – wrapping her braids into a bun and accessorising with a simple pair of drop earrings.

Of course Zoe’s septum ring remained and there was some edge added via the matching cuffs she finished the look with.

Another bright young thing, reality starlet-turned-model, Kendall Jenner attended the ‘amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala’ while in Cannes, wearing a crop top and skirt ensemble from Calvin Klein.

The hue of the two-piece suited her complexion, and we like the wrap detail to the top, too – little details that prove Kendall’s continued climb to the top of the fashpack is certainly no coincidence.

Cate-Blanchett

Last on our list, Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett turned heads in her Autumn/Winter’15 Giles gown, as she hit the carpet for the Carol premiere.

The iridescent look is reminiscent of Solange’s 2015 Met Gala ensemble (see that here) and although it was a little less unusual than Bey’s quirky sisters,’ the interesting texture and layered skirt gave Ms Blanchett the style points needed to end up on our rundown.
