When you’re in the market for a new trucking company, there are some things that are important — pay, home time, and bonus opportunities.
But for some truck drivers, there is nothing more important than whether or not their trucking company will allow them to bring a pet along. And for good reason — trucking with a pet reduces stress and loneliness and can even encourage you to get more exercise!
If you’re looking for a company that will let you take a furry co-pilot along for the ride, this is a good place to start. Please remember that many trucking companies that allow pets will want some sort of deposit, but they’ll often give some or all of it back when you finish working for them.
Trucking Companies That Allow Pets

LTI Trucking Services — This St. Louis-based trucking company boasts that 40% of their drivers go with a pet. Their motto is “Two heartbeats to every truck”. One of their drivers even rolls with a parrot!
Prime Inc. — If you can’t afford your pet deposit all at once, Prime Inc. will let you finance it over a six-week period. Only one pet under 30 pounds is allowed.
May Trucking Company — Talk to a recruiter for details on the pet policy.
Knight Refrigerated — There is a $400 pet deposit with a potential $200 refund.
Interstate Distributor Co. — Not only do they allow two pets, they also have a space for pets to run around in their yards so they can get out of the truck and stretch their legs.
Melton Truck Lines — The pet deposit is $750, but it is completely refundable!

Celadon — While company drivers are not allowed to have pets, drivers in the lease purchase program can bring a pet.
Werner — They do have a pet policy, but it emphasizes the fact that the pet must not be allowed to destroy property or harm anyone.
Waller Truck Co. — A family owned and operated dry van truckload carrier with a pro-pet policy.
