Working with Parents Returning to the Workforce
May 15, 2024 12 - 1pm

Parental Guilt is a term thrown around in online mom groups and between colleagues often. It has become a catch-all phrase for the awful feeling parents have to sit with when they attempt to do something for themselves, including returning to work after a parental leave. It's common because most parents have high standards for themselves, which is a really good thing. But, if they don’t have strategies to manage their life roles and own feelings and expectations around them, it can damage their own perception of self and wreck havoc on their careers. Jennifer Sumner works with parents in career transitions and has developed strategies to help them transition back into the workforce with confidence while also maintaining balance with their other life roles. In this lunch and learn we will explore specific strategies you can use with your clients and community, and provide further insight into why this transition is an important, but often under supported stage in their careers.
