Golfer Bob Estes Apologizes for Saying Terrorists Were ‘Just Exercising their Second Amendment Rights’

Professional golfer Bob Estes made a big mistake on Twitter and had to apologize for saying that the two Muslim terrorists who were killed trying to disrupt a free speech event in Texas were just “exercising their Seconds Amendment rights.”

Yesterday after news broke that two homegrown Muslim terrorists tried to break into the “Draw Mohammad” art contest held in Garland, Texas and kill the participants, golfer Bob Estes went to his Twitter feed and posted this message…

Many instantly jumped on Estes and attacked him for excusing terrorism and for saying that the Second Amendment sanctions murder. He quickly deleted the Tweet but not before catching hell on the social media service.

But any look at Estes’ Twitter feed will show that the golfer is a conservative as he has many, many Tweets and re-tweets from conservatives posted there.

Estes had to explain that he was not sanctioning murder and terrorism nor a misuse of the Second Amendment but was instead speaking ironically.

The golfer explained later that he meant his Tweet to be an attack on radical Muslims and just poorly worded it. He later went on to say that it doesn’t matter what laws you pass, Muslims will kill those with whom they disagree.

His corrected tweet reads, “If you feel the need to mock Muhammad with a cartoon, realize that Muslims will react (possibly with guns) however they want to.”

Estes will likely spend the next few days trying to correct the record for his bad phrasing of his point. Let’s hope we helped a little bit by giving him a platform.
