TV Article Tyrant season 2 trailer: 'Blood guarantees nothing' By Kelly Connolly Published on May 4, 2015 07:26PM EDT Photo: Patrick Harbron/FX FX has released the first trailer for season 2 of Tyrant, the political drama about an American family pulled into a Middle Eastern conflict—and things aren’t looking good for Barry. At the end of the first season, Bassam “Barry” Al-Fayeed, who’d returned to his homeland after 20 years in self-imposed exile, was jailed for collaborating in a coup with the U.S. government. As the trailer shows, Barry begins season 2 in jail, and his older brother, Jamal, has no intention of freeing him anytime soon. (If someone could free his face from that beard, though… ) “I could keep you my prisoner for the rest of your life,” Jamal says. Despite moderate ratings in its first season, Tyrant received a surprise renewal last year—so at the very least, Jamal can keep Barry imprisoned for 13 episodes. Tyrant returns June 16.
