SPCS earns gold & silver awards for print & online materials in 2018 UPCEA Marketing Awards

The University of Richmond School of Professional and Continuing Studies has earned two gold awards and two silver awards in the 2018 UPCEA Marketing Awards for its marketing materials and design.

The University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) recognizes excellence in marketing among its member institutions with the annual UPCEA Marketing Awards. Each year’s winning entries are shared and recognized at an awards ceremony during the annual UPCEA Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar (MEMS). This year’s award recipients will be celebrated at the 2018 Annual UPCEA MEMS held in Long Beach, California, November 7-9. All award-winning entries will be on display at the event as inspiration for other institutions and colleagues to submit nominations.

Marketing Awards may be earned in 8 divisions and 27 different categories. SPCS submitted four nominations in three different categories, earning a gold or silver award for each nomination submitted. The following marketing materials earned awards.

Gold winner in the Miscellaneous Print Pieces category: “Spider 3D Printed USB Drive” distributed with digital Senior Book to SPCS alumni.

Gold winner in the Mixed Media Campaign category: “Political Campaign Management Professional Certificate” used to promote the new Political Campaign Management Professional Certificate program; the campaign included a digital flyer, an electronic flyer, a foldout brochure, a Think Again professional education brochure, and display ads on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Silver winner in the Miscellaneous Print category: “Bee Student Beer Label” used on the collaborative beer brewed by SPCS and Three Notch’d RVA Collab House, promoting UR sustainability efforts and the Brewing Education program.

Silver winner in the Strategic Recruitment Marketing Plan category: “Political Campaign Management Professional Certificate” comprehensive recruiting marketing plan focused on successfully enrolling a full initial cohort in the Political Campaign Management Professional Certificate program.

The University of Richmond, through the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, is long-time UPCEA member. Dean Emeritus Jim Narduzzi served as a past conference chair and recently contributed an essay with SPCS Marketing & Engagement Director James Campbell to the organization’s 100th anniversary volume, Centennial Conversations: Essential Essays in Professional, Continuing and Online Education.

Representatives from the SPCS Marketing & Engagement Team will attend the 2018 UPCEA MEMS to receive these awards in person during the awards ceremony. In addition, all Gold winners are eligible to compete for Division winner awards, and Division winners are eligible to complete for an overall Best in Show award. Both Division winners and the Best in Show winner will be announced at the awards ceremomy.
