MID YEAR SHOWCASE INFORMATION

WE SIMPLY CAN'T HIDE HOW EXCITED WE ARE FOR OUR FIRST CONCERT OF OUR 25TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR! THIS MID YEAR SHOWCASE IS GOING TO BE BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!

Our Mid-Year Showcase is just around the corner. Our Showcase gives our dancers the opportunity to perform on stage for family and friends and showcase all their hard work during the first half of the year. For any children (and parents) who are unsure about performing, our Mid-Year showcase is a great opportunity to try it out and see how your dancer, (and you) go. It is a stress free and fun day promoting a positive experience for all involved.

BELOW IS A LOT OF INFORMATION BUT PLEASE DON'T FEEL OVERWHELMED. MY AIM IS TO TRY AND ANSWER ANY OF YOUR QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO SPEAK TO STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK IF YOU ARE STILL UNSURE. (ONCE YOU HAVE DONE IT ONCE, YOU WILL REALISE THAT THE DAY IS A FUN AND RELAXING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OUR DANCERS AND HOPEFULLY YOU AS WELL!)

This year our Showcase is going to be split into  parts:
1. Jigsaw Juniors
2. Rising Stars
3. Shooting Stars
4. Academy Junior & Academy Senior
.

The order of the each showcase will be emailed to you in a separate email. Please ensure that you know what showcase your dancer is in so you don't miss it!

Dancers are asked to arrive 30mins prior to the start of their concert. Dressed in the appropriate uniform for your first dance.

Jigsaw Juniors: (Please arrive 10:30am)

To make it easier to identify what dances your child is in, a coloured wrist band will be given to each of our dancers for each of their classes. (We will hand these out 2 weeks before the showcase). Please don't lose these before the day and don't forget to bring them with you.

A separate note will be handed out regarding this closer to the Showcase.

When you arrive, keep your dancer with you in the audience. Once everyone arrives, I will come onto the stage and explain where and when everyone needs to come onto the stage. The showcase will be kept relaxed and informal as our main aim is to get all our dancers onto the stage and have a great time showing you what they have been learning. (I will explain to you all through-out the showcase exactly what is going on and where everyone needs to be, so don't stress if this is your first time or you are not sure what is going on).

Rising Stars: (Please arrive 12:30pm)

The first 10 dances in the progam will come back stage and wait with the teachers. Once they have finished, the staff will lead them back to the auditorium for you to collect and to sit and watch or change their shoes and uniform for their next dance.

All Rising Stars are required to come onto the stage for the finale. I will explain to you all through-out the showcase exactly what is going on and where everyone needs to be, so don't stress if this is your first time and you are not sure what is going on.

For our dancers that need to change uniform from jazz/hip hop/tap uniform into ballet or acro uniform, there is a dressing room available at the back of the auditorium that they can use. As our Rising Stars are so young, we ask that a parent is there to change their child. Sandra will be in the dressing room to help anyone who needs assistance.

Our aim is to keep everyone (children and parents!) feeling calm and relaxed and have a great time performing.

Shooting Stars Performers:

REHEARSAL 8:30am - 10:00am: We are going to have a quick rehearsal in the morning prior to the concert. If we could ask all Shooting Stars Students to be at the auditorium by 8:15am sharp then we will start rehearsing at 8:30am sharp!

All dancers will stay in the auditorium through-out the rehearsal. We will have the canteen open with hot food and snacks for them to stay refreshed & warm!

You can come and collect your dancer at 10:00am and help them prep for the 'REAL SHOW' which starts at 3:00pm. (Please return by 2:30pm)
