Jose Fonte is not fazed by the prospect of having to deal with Robert Lewandowski when Portugal play Poland in the Euro 2016 qquarter-finals.
Portugal saw off Croatia thanks to a Ricardo Quaresma header in extra-time, while Poland edged Switzerland in a penalty shootout to get to the quarter finals.
Fonte made his first appearance of the tournament against Croatia and believes he can deal with Poland's talisman should Fernando Santos give him another chance in the starting XI.
"He is a player of enormous quality, but we have a good staff who work hard and give us all the information," said the Portugal defender.
"We have to be at our best level. I play in a competitive league, with strikers of great quality and Lewandowski is another.
"He has a lot of quality and we have to pay attention."
"It will be a difficult game against Poland," he continued. "If they have reached the quarter-final it is because they have quality.
"They have proved this. It will be difficult, but we are prepared.
"Now it is important to recover, rest well and follow our recuperation plan. There are only a few days and many games."
Portugal have been disappointing in the tournament so far, having not won a game in 90 minutes in the tournament so far. However, they will be looking to change that next time out against Poland.
