Avery Johnson said he thought the Alabama basketball roster had stabilized after two transfers.

Add a third to the list.

Jeff Garrett, a freshman who redshirted last season, will join the list of departures. The Oldsmar, Fla., product will transfer out of Tuscaloosa, AL.com confirmed Thursday afternoon. Garrett played eight minutes and scored one point in an exhibition win over Montevallo.

"In our situation, we just want the players that really want to be here and really want to move forward with us," Johnson said April 16. "And I think we finally got to that number now."

Coming to Alabama, Garrett was ranked 67th among power forwards and 260t overall by 247Sports.

"Jeff and I met and decided he will redshirt this season," then-Alabama coach Anthony Grant said in November. "We feel it is the best thing for him from a long-term standpoint. It will give him the opportunity to grow and develop as a player and a student. We feel Jeff has an outstanding future ahead of him."

Guards Ricky Tarrant (Memphis) and Devin Mitchell (Georgia State) previously announced transfers after Johnson was hired.
