Sadly, the 2014/2015 ski season is coming to an end. In a season that saw smart snowboard bindings and virtual reality goggles, it was a forward-thinking winter that nonetheless began with very little snow. It was a season where Prince Harry headed to Verbier and these skiers headed to the wrong La Plagne.
There’ve been highs and there’ve been lows, but through it all, the UK’s skiers and riders have found their ‘happy’ on slopes across the northern hemisphere. If, like us, you’re already mourning the 2014/2015 season, these dry slopes and indoor snow centres will keep you skiing or riding all summer long. (Yes, we know it won’t be the same.)

The Snow Centre
Located just outside the M25, the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead has a 10-metre real snow slope that includes boxes, rails and kickers. This is where the z-list celebrities trained for Channel 4’s The Jump (although it more famously played host to an afternoon out for the Interactive Resorts content team).
Chill Factore
Manchester’s Chill Factore is home to the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope (180 metres). As well as the normal lift passes, they offer freestyle and mogul passes, along with lessons, ladies-only mornings, race lift passes and special events. Charity Disability Snowsport UK is also based at Chill Factore.
Cardiff Ski and Snowboard Centre
The Cardiff Ski and Snowboard Centre is one of the oldest dry ski slopes in Britain, with the original 90-metre slope being built back in 1969. The slope is now 100 metres long and hosts skiing and lessons for all abilities, plus freestyle sessions, competitions and tubing – all this just ten minutes outside Cardiff city centre.
Plymouth Ski Slope and Snowboard Centre
With three slopes, including the longest artificial slope in the southwest, the Plymouth Ski Slope and Snowboard Centre is a popular spot for snow fans hailing from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The centre is open throughout the year for skiing, snowboarding, tubing and tobogganing. It also has a range of lessons for all abilities, including advanced training for racing, freestyle and instruction.
Snow Factor
Snow Factor in Braehead, Glasgow is Scotland's only indoor real snow slope. It features a 168-metre slope, ski and snowboarding lessons and tons of events. Oh, and there's also a giant ice climbing wall!

So whichever part of the UK you’re from, there’s a dry slope or indoor snow centre to keep your skiing or snowboarding obsession sated throughout the summer. And with that, we bid goodbye to an amazing and eventful 2014/2015 ski season. Thanks for joining us along the way. It’s been emotional.
