Auburn to host top basketball transfer Tyler Harris this weekend

Bruce Pearl and Auburn's basketball program is set to host one of the top graduate transfers in the country as Tyler Harris is expected to visit the Plains for the entire upcoming weekend, according to The Montgomery Advertiser.

The 6-foot-9, 232-pound forward from Dix Hills, N.Y., averaged 9.9 points per game in his second season at Providence. He led the Friars to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. His brother, Tobias Harris, played for Pearl at Tennessee in 2010-11.

Harris is set to graduate from Providence next month and will have one season of eligibility remaining. He hopes to make a decision by May 15. Arizona, Boston College, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, La Salle, Oklahoma State, Massachusetts, Nebraska and Tennessee are also in the mix.

"The main thing is we're looking to a school that can make it to the Tournament and make a big run and win the tournament," Harris' father, Terrell, told The Advertiser. "Tyler feels that if they have if they have all the pieces there, he can be that impact player that can take them over the hump and lead them to the tournament."

Harris could be play this fall the NCAA grants him a graduate transfer waiver. ESPN ranks him as the No. 7 transfer in the nation for his class.

Pearl and assistants Chuck Person and Tony Jones visited Harris last week. If the Tigers sign him, Auburn would be one player over the roster limit going into the summer.
