Melodyne Tuning Clinic with Ray Williams

Ray Williams will give a clinic on tuning with Melodyne. This clinic will focus on a musical approach to tuning and teaches useful techniques for analyzing audio tracks to determine the best tuning strategy.

The clinic will also explore important ways to use software for enhancing performances by editing volume, time, vibrato, formant and other aspects of sound. The clinic will also show easy ways to use MIDI to enhance recorded audio in a multitude of creative ways.

The clinic will also explore the uses and limits of polyphonic editing as it pertains to guitar editing all the way to touching up final mixes and live recordings. At the end attendees will learn how to use tuning technology for enhancement and inspiration in music production.

Ray Williams Bio:

Ray Williams is a music technologist and a Melodyne specialist since the beginnings in 2002. Ray was part of the Celemony team award a Technical GRAMMY for Melodyne in 2012. Ray has conducted tuning clinics all over the USA and Canada always leaning towards the common sense musical application of technology.

Ray is founder and President of Music Marketing Inc, a leading music instrument distributor since 1991, and he is a Professor of Music History at York University in Toronto.
