Amazing Beaches Near Orlando

April 23, 2015

One of the questions we get the most is, “what is the closest beach to Orlando?” Many guests coming to Florida expect to get a little sun and show off their Florida tan. The hotel pools are a great option to leisure around, but if you have a little bit more time to spare you can certainly take a one-day trip to a nearby beach! We calculated the distance in miles from our hotel, staySky Suites I-Drive, to the closest beaches to Orlando. The top three are:

  1. Cocoa Beach:

Distance: 61.7 miles. About a one-hour drive.

Cocoa is located on the east coast of Florida, or the Space Coast. It’s a calm and clean beach that young families and young adults love to visit for its surf and relaxed vibe. They also have the world’s famous Ron Jon Surf Shop there that is a mandatory stop! The store is huge and great for getting gifts and taking pictures, of course! Cocoa Beach offers beachside parking, but driving on the beach is not allowed. Be advised that you will have to pay a couple of tolls on FL-528 to get to the beach from Orlando.

  1. Daytona Beach:

Distance: 65 miles. About a one-hour drive.

You just can’t come to Florida and not visit the world’s most famous beach! Daytona offers 23 miles of stunning sights and adventure. They have beachfront splash parks, beach volleyball courses and jungle gyms along the shoreline, and you can also go paddle boarding, kayaking, and, of course, surfing! It’s hard to think of going to Daytona and only spending one day, because there is so much to do and see. The Boardwalk and Pier and the Daytona International Speedway are just a couple of the sites that you must visit. If you decide to extend your trip, we suggest Hawaiian Inn as a beachfront hotel with a view that won’t disappoint!Hawaiian Inn - Daytona Beach - staySky Suites I-Drive Orlando

  1. New Smyrna Beach:

Distance: 64.3 miles. About a one-hour drive.

Thirteen miles of white sand and a wonderful coastal breeze await in you in this beautiful beach. Families love these beach as they can drive and park right on the beach. It’s very common to have several cars parked with their trunks opened holding coolers filled with plenty of food and drinks for an all-day feast at the beach for the family! You will take I-4 for most of your trip to New Smyrna, so the good news is that you won’t have to pay tolls! There is also beachside parking if you don’t want to park on the beach.

With so many great options within such a short drive, it’s hard choosing which one of these beauties to visit during your trip to Orlando! But whichever you choose, we are sure you will have a remarkable time!
