Interior Design Magazine’s 2014 BOY Winner for Healthcare

Interior Design Magazine recently held their Best of the Year “BOY” awards.  One of the winners in Healthcare was the Saint John of God Hospital in Barcelona, Spain.  This maternity and pediatric hospital organized a blind competition to redesign the hospital.  The winner was Rai Pinto Studio who used bright colors and animal designs to make the facility attractive to adults and children alike.  The pictures below are a few of the ones from the article.  To read the entire Interior Design Magazine article and view the slideshow, click here.

Throughout the hospital, the artwork contains patterns created by stripes or circles.

The color palette of purple, pink, red, orange, and yellow is a drastic difference from the stark white walls the hospital had before.

Throughout the hospital, Rai Pinto used life-sized but abstracted animal shapes in bright colors.
