With people getting aware of side-effects of chemical cosmetics, Organic hand-made products are gradually finding a major audience & customer base. I for one, am a fan of all things natural and these days I completely stay away from harmful products with chemicals like lead etc. As you might have already guessed by now, I am using a lot of natural products & reviewing them at the same time, Brands like Iraya, Omved & Fuschia are currently on my dressing shelf. Having tried my hand on mostly skin-care & body baths I was really excited to try on an Organic Makeup range by Soultree Brand. I picked a metallic green eye Kajal from their Mohini range of Beauty products which consists of naturally made lipsticks and colored kajal.

The product claims to have been made from camphor and organic ghee to provide a soothing effect to eyes. They essentially called this kajal as the carbon black collected from the vegetable oil lamp, which is being mixed with organic ghee, sweet almond oil and natural mineral colours to give out the different shades. My experience with Soultree organic Kajal in moss velvet green:
The best thing I liked about this kajal is the sleek metal container which is pretty easy and the cap does not come off easily, which means that you can stash it in your purse and take it anywhere you go! I totally loved the green shade which is pretty much fresh and makes my eyes look bigger. The application is pretty much easy both during the hand swatches and applying on the waterline, however I had to swipe it twice to thrice to bring this intensity of the colour. The kajal that gives a mattish look on hands, shines on my waterline giving a metallic touch!

The colour is quite rich and it glides smoothly on waterline giving good intensity in 2-3 swipes without tugging or bleeding. So far so good!
Organic natural handmade kajal review
I tried using the kajal on the upper lid as eye-liner, but it is difficult to apply as for one, it does not give an intense colour on my upper eye-lid and second the kajal gets removed quickly and thus can spread away easily once applied. It stays upto maximum of 3 hours on my water-line which is less compared to other commercially available kajal, However in my experience only black kajal’s stay for a longer duration and this one is atleast better than the oriflame blue kajal that I am using currently which is more lighter and has less staying power than this one.One major issue with this natural kajal I faced was that, it stinged my eyes a few minutes after application. No it did not leave my eyes watery after applying but rather it was very dry and itchy. I wonder it was maybe due to the camphor present in the kajal, since my eyes as such are not that sensitive. The kajal also becomes a little sticky after a while and irritates the eyes with its stickiness.

I have applied Oriflame veryme eyeliner in Metallic green along with the soultree velvet moss kajal and both look exactly similar 🙂
Soultree ayurvedic kajal
The kajal looks striking when applied with a black eye-liner.
Pros:
1. Travel friendly packaging.
2. Beautiful range of colours.
3. Lead & Paraben free natural organic kajal
4. Good intensity
Cons:
1. Stinges and irratates my eyes after a few minutes of application.
2. Staying power only 3 hours.
3. Pretty expensive compared to other counterparts such as L’Oreal, Maybeline & Lakme.

Here is my review for the Soultree Moss Velvet kajal from its Mohini range, The kajal is pretty expensive and does irritate my eyes, I would have loved to buy it again if it did not have these two issues.
