NEW YORK CITY — Sunday marks the end of the AMC drama that showed us how fun it would be if day-drinking at work was still acceptable.
There is no better way to bid Don Draper farewell than with a drink — preferably rye whiskey — so here are some bars that will be screening the series finale on May 17:
The Lion, 62 W. 9th St. in the West Village
Take advantage of the $1 oysters and $1 glasses of Prosecco at this stylish Greenwich Village restaurant, where their viewing party deals begin at 9 p.m. on Sunday. The Lion will also be serving a special menu for the screening.
The Comic Strip NYC, 1568 Second Ave. at E. 81st St. on the Upper West Side
For a lively scene, head to this Upper East Side comedy club. The party will start at 8 p.m. and will include trivia, drink specials, free giveaways and comedy. Entry is free with a two-drink minimum.
The Monro Pub at 481 5th Ave in Park Slope
If you're looking to congregate with serious "Mad Men" fans who won't interrupt the show with chatter, then head to this British pub for a 10 p.m. screening and $3 Bud and Bud Lights.
South 4th Bar & Cafe at 90 S. 4th St. in Williamsburg
Coffee shop by morning and watering hole by night, this neighborhood joint will host a 10 p.m. viewing along with $5 Sam Adams drafts and specialty cocktails.
t.b.d. brooklyn at 224 Franklin St. in Greenpoint
A spacious, low-key lounge and beer garden that holds regular viewing parties every week will be airing the final episode at 10 p.m. on four high-definition screens.
City Winery at 155 Varick St. in the West Village
Doors open at 8 p.m. for this viewing party, where you can enjoy wine tastings and cocktails inspired by the show. If you don some "Mad Men"-era garb, you'll automatically be entered in a raffle to win a City Winery bottle of wine. Last week's episode will air at 9 p.m. and the main event begins at 10 p.m. RSVP here and arrive early, as seating is limited.
