Country music duo Montgomery Gentry, with 14 top 10 singles, will play Aug. 4 at this year’s Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa.

The duo, formed in 1999, features singers Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, both natives of Kentucky. Their new album, “Folks Like Us,” will be released June 9. Montgomery Gentry performed at Santa Rosa’s Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in 2009.

Sharing the Aug. 4 date at the fair will be another country duo, Thompson Square, featuring Keifer and Shawna Thompson. Their third album is due out later this year and features the single, “Trans Am,” released last month.

Tickets for Montgomery Gentry and Thompson Square cost $35-$65.

Singer, songwriter and actress Bridgit Mendler -- currently starring as Candace on the NBC comedy “Undatable,” will perform Aug. 5 at the fair. Mendler released her first album, “Hello My Name Is...,” three years ago and appeared previously at the Sonoma County Fair two years ago. Tickets for her concert cost $30-$50.

Concert admission is charged in addition to fair admission, which is $11 for ages 13 and older, $5 for ages 7-12 and free for age 6 and younger.

Tickets for the concerts at the fair will go on sale Saturday, May 16, at the box office at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa. Tickets go on sale online Monday, May 18, at sonomacountyfair.com.

The fair will present a concert of popular Hispanic music Aug. 7, and plans to announce the details soon.

The Sonoma County Fair runs July 24 through Aug. 9, closed on Mondays. This year’s theme for the fair is “Down on the Farm.” For more information, call 545-4200.
