With Tomas Tatar's goal 3:43 into overtime against Sweden on Sunday, Wild forward Nino Niederreiter and Team Europe continued their surprising run in the World Cup of Hockey 2016.

Team Europe's 3-2 victory at Air Canada Centre sets up a best-of-three finals matchup with Team Canada. The series begins Tuesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
Niederreiter played 13 shifts for a total of 8:12 in ice time Sunday and drew a second-period tripping penalty on Niklas Hjalmarsson. In four tournament games, Niederreiter has one assist.
Coming into the World Cup, Team Europe wasn't a favorite to make the finals. But Switzerland native Niederreiter and a group representing seven other countries have slowly
shed the underdog label
in the past week.
It's "definitely something special" and a "once-in-a-lifetime type of deal," Niederreiter said earlier in the tournament.
Now Team Europe gets another crack at Canada on the latter country's home ice. Team Canada bested Team Europe 4-1 on Wednesday to win Group A.
Including Saturday's semifinal win against Team Russia, the Canadians have outscored their opponents 19-6 in four contests.
