Getting around campus will be a lot easier this semester thanks to a new interactive map available now to the SDSU community. The map is a dynamic, customizable navigation tool for faculty, staff and students.

The map includes a sidebar that allows users to switch on and off different menu items including parking, housing and ADA Accessibility. Each menu item has subcategories and the map can populate icons representing locations for the requested features. Hovering over an icon brings up a description and other pertinent details about the map item. For example, icons for campus dining facilities provide links to the restaurants’ hours and information.

This map is also a useful asset for community members with disabilities. A menu item on the left side of the map allows users to switch on the ADA Accessibility option. Once selected, the map highlights all roadways and campus pathways that are accessible by wheelchair. It also lists ADA restrooms and building access points.

The interactive map can also provide directions, including by public transit and on foot.

Last but not least, the new map also features a self-guided tour of the campus which includes pictures and descriptions of important landmarks.

The map is a work in progress and developers expect to add content in the coming year to further enhance this campus resource. If you have any questions or feedback about the map, you are encouraged to write an email to [email protected].
