TRIMIS NEWS: November 2022

Welcome to the November edition of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS) Newsletter.
TRIMIS is an online platform for policy makers and researchers to share and discuss innovation in transport and mobility in Europe.
In this month’s TRIMIS News we highlight the latest JRC TRIMIS policy briefs:  We would like to draw the readers' attention to a new feature of the TRIMIS portal: all TRIMIS publications are now accessible from a dedicated publications page for facilitated access.

We remind the readers that a number of transport related Horizon Europe calls are open for submission. Themes include rail infrastructure and operations, digitalisation and multimodality, and alternative fuels. The deadline for submission is on 14 December 2022 17:00:00 Brussels time.

Additionally, we share with you the following selection of recent projects:
  • MARBEL aims to design, develop and demonstrate new modular, compact, lightweight and high-performance battery packs together with flexible and robust battery management systems for these battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, while maintaining safety levels, allowing fast, high quality and cost-effective large-scale production and following the “made by Ecodesign” principles.
  • SIMBAD's goal is to develop and evaluate a set of machine learning approaches aimed at providing state of-the-art Airport Traffic Management (ATM) microsimulation models with the level of reliability, tractability and interpretability required to effectively support performance evaluation at the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) level.
This issue also includes two events from the TRIMIS database taking place in 2022:
  • The EU Road Safety Results Conference is an opportunity to engage with EU Member State authorities and all stakeholders on the progress being made with implementing the Safe System Approach. It will take place in hybrid format on Thursday, 8 Dec 2022. Registrations are open till 7 December 2022, 12:00 CET.
  • The European Commission’s info days for Horizon Europe Cluster 5 will be held fully virtually. The info days will present the research and innovation topics proposed for 2023 under the Work Programme 2023-2024 of Horizon Europe Cluster 5. They will give the opportunity to prospective applicants to learn more about the funding options under the new Work Programme with focus on twin green and digital transitions to achieve climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.
