1977 - Former West Indies player Travis Dowlin was born in Georgetown, Guyana. He made his Test debut in 2009 against Bangladesh while the senior West Indies players went on strike, and averaged 31.18 from six matches. Dowlin also scored 100 not out, his only ODI hundred, in 11 games. He averaged 30.17 in 85 first-class games.

1986 - Former national cyclist Christopher Sellier was born. The son of Olympian Anthony Sellier, Christopher was a part of the Trinidad and Tobago sprint team at the 2009 UCI Track Cycling Championships.

1990 - England stunned the West Indies to win the 1st Test at Kingston by nine wickets. Devon Malcolm and Gladstone Small took four wickets apiece to bowl West Indies out for 240. Wayne Larkins (29 not out) helped England chase down 41 for victory at Sabina Park.

1991 - Sprinter Kamaria  Durant was born. The 2019 national 200m champion, Durant won a silver medal in the CAC Games in the 4x100m relay in 2013 and bronze medals in the event at the 2014 IAAF Relays and the 2015 NACAC Championships.

2000 - Canada beat T&T 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Concacaf Gold Cup, T&T's first appearance in the semi-finals of the tournament. Mark Watson scored the only goal in the 68th minute at the LA Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.

2004 - West Indies lost to India by 96 runs at ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. Ravi Rampaul took 2 for 55 in India's 253 for 9, with Rishi Bachan having 1 for 54. Assad Fudadin top-scored with 51 as West Indies were bowled out for 157.

2015 - Chris Gayle scored 215 against Zimbabwe at the ICC Cricket World Cup at Canberra. He hit 16 sixes in his career-best ODI innings and became the first man to score a double hundred in a World Cup match.
