Earthquake victims relief fund

As you all know I am from Nepal...so the terrible events that are currently happening in Nepal has me and all of my family in shock and despair...I live in Kansas City currently and to be so far away from home at times like these makes me feel helpless but I am starting this fundraiser in order to get some donations collected that I can send to help the victims of the earthquakes.
I have been receiving a lot of concerned messages and I am very glad to say my immediate family are all safe for now...but the terrifying thing is we never know what and when the earthquakes might hit and I have been receiving messages of them sitting outside in an open space, abandoning our home and praying...all we can do is be strong now and support the families who have already lost so much and no better way to get this started than to ask you, my friends, for help...
I really appreciate the donations I have gotten so far and I have also been getting personal messages, wanting to help as well as wanting to know where these funds will be going...so far the plan is get as much donations as I can and I will be submitting it to our Kansas City Nepali Community...from there we are trying to decide on which organization it would be most beneficial to send to so most if not all the donations go towards helping the victims and not be misused...we have been thinking of Unicef / Redcross but the option is still open and we will decide once the funds have been collected but I assure you, no matter where we send the money, it will definitely go towards providing support to the victims.
This is our chance to help...every penny counts...I know we don't always have these unexpected costs but we don't always get such opportunities to make a difference either...Please donate whatever you can and keep the victims and their families in your prayers...Thank you for your help!
