1000 UK companies have demonstrated their support to the Armed Forces community and adopted the Armed Forces Covenant for mutual and tangible benefit.

The week after Armed Forces Day 2016 we celebrate the 1000th UK company to adopt and sign the Armed Forces Covenant as a first step in Partnering with Defence for mutual and tangible benefit.

The Covenant is, above all, a promise to treat Service people fairly and it offers a number of options which businesses and organisations can choose from to suit their business needs and ability to support; from fishing in the talent pools of Service leavers, spouses, Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers for potential employees; to helping the rehabilitation and career recovery of the wounded, injured or sick; supporting Service Charities; or advertising and marketing a business, product or service to the Armed Forces personnel community through the Defence Discount Service.

The only limit to the support that can be offered is the initiative of the organisation, so if you would like to gain tangible benefit from such a Partnering please get in contact.  And, this is certainly NOT for just the big companies like Compass, SMEs have as much, if not more to gain.

Important to get involved if you can. Just read a horrendous stat that 22 veterans commit suicide every day. I am sure there is lots companies can do to support our vets through employment, mentoring, coaching and work placement opportunities.

There are so many win/win reasons to get involved and show your support for our Armed Forces that it well worth finding out more. As Gandhi said "You may never know what results come of your actions, but if you do nothing there will be no result"
