If you follow any style bloggers or fashion magazines on Instagram, you've probably seen a flat lay or two on your feed. Now, people are starting the Flat Lay Your Collection trend and we're not mad about it. Just like with clothes and accessories laid out in an Instagram-worthy fashion, beauty loot is displayed on colorful carpets, marble tables, and fluffy beds to get all the double-taps.
We spotted the trend on our favorite Reddit thread r/MakeupAddiction in a post called Flat Lay Your Collection. There are already more than 200 comments with both guys and girls showing off what's in their makeup bag. It's really fun to see what products people really use. Some are lipstick hoarders (same), others can't get enough of palettes. User @nommingdino wrote: "This made me realize how much makeup I've actually got!" I felt the same way when I laid out only part of my own makeup bag (pictured above).

We're also big fans of the way everyone is commenting on each other's flat lays with really constructive ideas. Some point out products they are obsessed with and new launches they think the user would like. Others offer ideas about how to up their dark lipstick game or get into highlighter.
