Seinfeld may be the “show about nothing,” but it could easily have been the “show about food.” Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer were veritable '90s foodies—their taste ranged from the lowbrow (Jujyfruits) to the highfalutin (Cornish game hen, anyone?), they waited in line for buzzy dishes and they had a go-to restaurant all their own (Monk's Café). In honor of the show’s 25th anniversary, we took a look back at nine seasons of delectable food moments, plus we’ll tell you where to get all the thirst-inducing pretzels, muffin tops and chocolate babka you can stomach.

Chocolate babka

The bite:
Chocolate babka
The episode: “The Dinner Party” (season five, episode 13)
The real deal: Do your own chocolate-versus-cinnamon babka battle at Breads Bakery. Pro tip: Both are superb.

Muffin tops

The bite
: Muffin tops
The episode: “The Muffin Tops” (season eight, episode 21)
The real deal: Top of the muffin to you! The “Baker’s Muffin” at City Bakery is a behemoth hybrid of muffin and monkey bread, with a mountain of a top. The thing’s so good, you’ll even want to eat the stump.

Big salads

The bite
: Big salads
The episode: “The Big Salad”(season six, episode two)
The real deal: The salads at Schnipper’s Quality Kitchen are almost as hefty as Costanza’s neurosis.

Soup

The bite
: Soup
The episode: “The Soup Nazi” (season seven, episode six)
The real deal: The infamous Soup Nazi is based on New York’s own Al Yeganeh, who used the show’s exposure to launch his nationwide Original SoupMan franchise. Make like George and order the turkey chili.

Pretzels

The bite
: Pretzels
The episode: “The Alternate Side” (season three, episode 11)
The real deal: You'll find three kinds of doughy-yet-crispy pretzel varieties (classic, everything, cranberry-rosemary) at Pelzer’s. Oh, and if they make you thirsty, there are some Philly soft drinks too.

Calzones

The bite
: Calzones
The episode: “The Calzone” (season seven, episode 20)
The real deal: Forget one calzone place—here are five.

Junior Mints

The bite
: Junior Mints
The episode: “The Junior Mint” (season four, episode 20)
The real deal: There’s a slew of candy in the Seinfeld canon—Pez, Twix, Oh Henry!—but none is as iconic as the Junior Mint. Stock up at Dylan’s Candy Bar, but be sure not to drop ’em, you know, in a guy’s chest cavity or something.

Marble rye

The bite
: Marble rye
The episode: “The Rye” (season seven, episode 11)
The real deal: For a rye worth stealing off a granny, look to Peter Endriss’s skillful loaves at Runner & Stone.
