Letting loose on a dance floor can be one of the scariest things a person does. The moves you’ve been practicing in your basement can be easily judged, and for some that scrutiny can have lifelong repercussions. However, as demonstrated by the Gay Nineties in their video for “Hold Your Fire,” having a dance-off with your best friends can be a total blast. Off of their debut album Liberal Guilt, “Hold Your Fire” is a catchy, pop song that will have you shimmying in your seat.

Filmed in black and white, the video for “Hold Your Fire” showcases the band breaking free with every quirky dance move imaginable. In preparation of filming, the band took a variety of dance classes. “It’s just the best feeling to be in a room freaking out with your buddies and dancing,” said front man Parker Bossley in our February 2015 interview. Taking notes from the likes of Kate Bush and Kevin Bacon, the video for “Hold Your Fire” gives you the confidence boost you need to take center stage unabashedly.
