Get Lily Collins’ Make-Up Look On The Cover Of May’s STELLAR Magazine

Lily Collins is our May cover star – we caught up with Lancôme elite make-up artist Shehla Shaikh-Ahmed to get the skinny on Lily's modern retro beauty look.

Our May issue just came out this week (have you got your mitts on a copy yet?) and we’ve already been getting so many comments on cover star Lily Collins’ gorgeous make-up look! Combining THOSE brows with a strongly defined blue line and an otherwise super-natural and rosy-cheeked look, it’s totally DIY-able – and we’ve got the skinny on how to get this look at home.

All about that base

“Start with the base, using fingers to blend Hydraglow primer on to the cheeks and blend Lancôme Miracle Cushion foundation all over the face avoiding the eyes area,” says Lancôme elite make-up artist, Shehla Shaikh-Ahmed. “Build the coverage where needed, which can be more in the centre panel of the face, using a patting and rolling motion with the sponge. Add light and lift to the eye area by blending Lancôme Teint Miracle pen in one shade lighter than your skin tone in a triangle under the eyes.”

“Lightly contour the cheeks with Lancôme Belle de Teint, applying only where you see shadow,” says Shehla – so that’d be beneath the cheekbones and along the temples slightly, in an S shape (we know y’all have seen a heap of contouring vids so this one should be simples). “Shape the brows next to help structure the face with Lancôme Le Sourcils Pro. Gently stroke the pencil through the brows and brush lightly after to soften, continuing this process until they are naturally defined and you have the desired definition.”

The eyes have it…

Next up? The source of all of our burning questions – Lily’s gorgeous, vivid blue-lined eyes!

“Start the eyes by defining the waterline with black khol pencil,” says Shehla. “Line the top and bottom eyelids with Lancôme Artliner 24HR in blue, starting on the lower lid first and extending the line to give the perfect angle for the flick on the top lid. Give the lashes a false lash effect with Lancôme Grandiose mascara. The clever angled wand helps to reach every single lash without clumping – build a second coat by pressing onto the roots of the lashes rather than pulling through to the tips which helps to create a fuller lash. Complete with the lower lashes.”

Last but not least: lips

“Finish the lips by running over your foundation brush with a little concealer on across the lips to neutralise any pink tones and prime the lips by lining with Lancôme Lip Pencil 211,” Shehla advises. “This is the perfect flesh tone to give the lips a fuller look. I like to finish the lips with a slick of nude Lancôme Shine Lover, the hydrating formula give the lips a naturally plumper look to complement the splash of blue on the eyes.”
