EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Plan International is one of the oldest and largest international development
agencies in the world. In the Philippines, Plan works with children and their
families in the poor communities with programs covering education, child and
youth engagement, health (including water and environmental sanitation), and
child protection.
Plan International has launched a major disaster response effort to help alleviate the suffering and
preserve human dignity among the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. For this purpose, Plan
International invites highly competent, experienced and committed professionals to fill the
following positions in various sectors:
Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Social Science, Rural Development or any
related courses
Minimum of three years work experience in disaster risk reduction programme management
Has relevant experience on working on risks, hazards and vulnerabilities in the Philippines
context.
Has minimum of here years experience in a supervisory role and/or managing teams
Minimum of one year experience in coordinating and facilitating trainings.
Uses clear and effective communication strategies that builds relationships in order to
influence others
Is assertive and is able to show cultural sensitivity
Minimum of five (5) years at a senior level in the Education sector with at least three (3) years
in supervisory role
Has demonstrated experience in program design and capacity building
Strong conceptual knowledge on K to 12 basic education programs and strong background on
community organizing and community development
Has proven effective management skills in leading teams across several locations
Has willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and
frustrating working conditions.
Ability to make quick decisions (transparency is also important).
Has excellent written and spoken English.
Gender, gender based violence and protection professional with a Bachelors degree or units
in a relevant area
Minimum two years experience as a gender technical specialist in emergency response
Knowledge of international standards such as SPHERE, GBV guidelines and PSEA
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Proven strategic skills
Demonstrates high degree of professionalism and integrity
Graduate of any four year course with extensive professional experience on WASH and
working with communities.
Relevant experience on information, education and communication materials preparation for
Behaviour Change Communication.
Familiar with SPHERE standards on WASH projects
Extensive knowledge of WASH issues facing children and other vulnerable populations in the
context of disaster especially in Region VIII.
Proven capacity to train, coach staff and provide supportive supervision.
Excellent written and spoken English, Tagalog and any of the Visayan dialects.
Committed, flexible and willing to work on extended hours
Proven effective coordination skills and ability to analyse and write reports.
Graduate of Social Science, Statistics, Social Work, Community Development or other related
course.
Related training on project management, participatory research and monitoring & evaluation
methods and project proposal development.
Must have at least three years experience in conducting research, planning, developing and
managing community development work related projects
