CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! Next Generation Network Infrastructure (NGNI) Acquisition Strategy Working Group GSA is planning its acquisition strategy for the Next Generation Network Infrastructure (NGNI) strategy to meet future federal telecommunications and information technology requirements before the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contracts expire in July 2032. The purpose of this working group is to develop strategic acquisition recommendations for GSA and to support GSA over the next several years during the critical planning phase of the NGNI acquisition strategy. In our initial sessions, the working group will develop recommendations to support GSA in achieving the following objectives: · Drive competition to offer the best value to customers · Reduce unnecessary resellers that do not add value · Deliver customer or vehicle service level objectives · Ensure vehicle(s) supports small business award opportunities · Capture total buying power of Federal Government with lowered seat, subscription, device, and license rates as more people procure capabilities holistically · Simplify transition between contract vehicles and reduce customer burden Volunteers for the working group should have some background in federal acquisitions and/or network and telecommunications expertise. Volunteers should expect to dedicate approximately 2 hours per month to this effort. To join the working group, please complete this form no later than 5PM ET on April 30, 2024. https://lnkd.in/eb6GxVHj

Reposting this summary by Jaime Gracia (procurement executive at DOS and former Acquisition COI leader) about the new “Acquisition 360” rule. Comment below with your thoughts on the new rule!
ICYMI from Federal News Network: After a prolonged five-year duration following the initial notice of proposed rulemaking, agencies are now granted the ability to conduct comprehensive 360-degree reviews with their contracted entities. The Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council unveiled the rule yesterday without any alterations from 2020. This rule is set to become effective on September 22, 2023. With the regulation, agencies are empowered to create voluntary feedback surveys for companies to enhance their acquisition processes through directed input from Industry on their experience in both pre-award and debriefing processes in a consistent and standardized manner. However, it's important to note that the rule does impose a restriction: It prohibits contracting officers from reviewing information until after a contract is awarded, and the information shall not be considered in the award decision. "Protests of agency solicitations or contract awards draw protests about two thousand times every year. It’s no fun for either side. But there are things the government can do in crafting an acquisition to lower the chances of a protest."
