CSB president elected to lead statewide college group

The president of the College of St. Benedict has been elected to lead the Minnesota Private College Council and Minnesota Private College Fund.

The council and fund represent 17 nonprofit colleges and universities in the state.

Mary Dana Hinton stepped into the role July 1. She previously was active on the council's board. She also has been active in Minnesota Campus Compact, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities and other college organizations.

Hinton has been president at CSB since 2014. She previously was vice president for academic affairs at Mount St. Mary College in New York. She has a doctorate in religion and religious education from Fordham University, a master's in clinical child psychology from the University of Kansas - Lawrence and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Williams College.
