Open House is an annual Cal Poly event that showcases the campus to admitted and current students, their supporters, alumni and the San Luis Obispo Community. This year, the College of Architecture & Environmental Design events will occur on Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 18. 

This event is designed for prospective undergraduate and graduate students as an introduction to the Cal Poly community. You will get an inside look at our academic programs, our faculty and students, and the unique experience of attending Cal Poly. We hope you can join us!

Thursday, April 16: Club Preview Night at the Farmers' Market

Friday, April 17: Newly Admitted Students Day

Saturday, April 18: CAED Alumni Celebration for Cal Poly Solar Decathlon at 11 a.m. - 12 p.m in the Berg Gallery (bldg. 5, room 105). Meet Solar Cal Poly and hear about the interactive, intuitive and integrated solar-powered home they designed and engineered to compete in the 2015 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon competition this fall.

Directions to Campus:

Please enter campus via the Highland entrance accessed from Highway 1 / Santa Rosa Street. On Friday only, a limited number of shuttles will run from the north parking area accessed through Highland to the inner core of campus from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to make a 0.5 mile walk to the Performing Arts Center Greeting Area. Parking in the north parking area is free for Open House guests on Friday and Saturday. See below for directions to campus.

Traveling North on Route 101 to San Luis Obispo

* Traveling through San Luis Obispo, take the Highway 1 North exit.
* Turn right onto Highway 1/Santa Rosa Street.
* Turn right onto Highland Drive.
* Follow the Event Parking area signs.

Traveling South on Route 101 to San Luis Obispo

* Traveling through San Luis Obispo, take the Highway 1 North exit toward Morro Bay.
* Turn right at the stop sign and travel north on Santa Rosa Street/Highway 1.
* Turn right onto Highland Drive.
* Follow the Event Parking area signs.

Giving to the CAED

Students in the ARCH 241 - Architectural Technology Fundamentals class display their custom-designed and handmade bricks. With the support of WRNS Architects in San Francisco, the class traveled to Pacific Clay in Lake Elsinore to make the bricks, after firing, they were shipped up to Cal Poly.
