Send team 917F to Worlds!
Team 917F Quantum Flux from Tesla STEM High School in Redmond, WA has DOUBLE qualified for the 2018 VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky - April 2018!
This event hosts a total of almost 600 high school teams from every state in the USA and from around the world, including Canada, China, Japan, and more - over 3,000 participants in all, and even aired in the past on CBS.
917F - Quantum Flux is the team that won the Excellence Award, the most prestigious award in VEX, citing an innovative design, a detailed engineering notebook, robust skills, high performance in competition, and more...
(Note from Oren's dad: When you have a team good enough to have a parent from another part of Washington State take one look at my nametag and exclaim - "you're with 917F!!! I know you guys!!! You're AWESOME!!!" - you know you have a team that stands a real chance to win the World Championship, and gain a lot of attention doing so...)
We need your help!
To participate in this event, the team of 7 students (plus one adult chaperone) will have to pay for:
* Shipping of the robot plus tools and spare parts
* Flights to and from Kentucky
* 5-night hotel stay
* Meals, and
* Almost $1,000 competition registration fee...
A conservative estimate is this will cost the team upwards of $9,000!!! (It is important to mention that our families already invested almost the same amount since the team started 3 years ago, paying for robot parts, fees, competition, travel, etc.)
*** If any funds are left over, they will be donated back to support future generations of the Quantum Robotics Club! ***
Thank you in advance;
