The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), Frisco's water supplier, thanks the public for conserving water while critical maintenance was completed at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex in July. Water demands are often highest during the month of August, so residents are asked to continue limiting outdoor water use. Read the full release.

Please Continue to be WaterWise!
Paul Knippel, Director of Public Works and Engineering, gave an update on outdoor watering during his report to the city council on Tuesday night. Watch at this link and click on Item 8 under 'Reports'.
"Our gallons per capita per day (GPCD) has gone up. We're about 50% over what our usage was last year in terms of summer use. Almost all of that is due to outdoor irrigation. We pay for water based on the peak amount we use, so this increase [in usage] is significant," said Knippel.
The graph below compares Frisco's water usage year-over-year. The blue bars represent 2022, while the red line shows 2021's GPCD.

Ways to Curb Outdoor Water Use
1. Water using your automatic sprinkler system only once per week. As an alternative, residents may use hand-held hoses, driplines & tree bubblers any day for up to 2 hours.
2. Water before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. (during Daylight Saving Time.)
3. Know your outdoor watering schedule. It's the same as your trash/recycling collection day.
