Duchess Meghan thought the leaks against her came from Kate, Camilla & Charles?

HRH The Prince of Wales Birthday Family Portrait

I have a long memory, and going off my own recollection, the smear campaign against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (mostly her, but he was included) began in earnest in the fall of 2018. It began immediately after Harry and Meghan announced their first pregnancy and completed their wildly successful South Pacific tour. They were being hailed as global superstars. And there were a lot of panicked people in every royal court. Which made the origins of the smear campaign pretty tricky – some people believed William and Kate were to blame, some believed Buckingham Palace’s Men In Grey were behind it, and others believed that Prince Charles’ huge Clarence House communications team was behind it. There were competing (and vile) narratives for months. At the end of the day, I think it was likely a perfect storm of bullsh-t coming out of all three royal courts, all of them attacking Meghan for their own ends. Turns out, Meghan probably believed the same. At least according to Prince William, who is desperately and obviously throwing his father, stepmother and wife under the bus.

Meghan Markle blamed the Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles for leaking stories about her to the Press when she was a senior royal, a source has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt negative stories about them – including the Duchess of Cambridge allegedly being left in tears following a bridesmaids’ dress fitting before Meghan’s 2018 wedding – must have been briefed by Kate, Camilla or Charles’ households, the palace insider said.

One story involved Harry reportedly shouting at the Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly during an incident involving Meghan’s wedding tiara. Reports later implied the disagreement was about arrangements for a fitting. The insider also said Harry and Meghan ‘assumed that the men in grey suits were obsessed with destroying them’ while in Kensington Palace.

Their revelations came just days after Meghan was accused of ‘driving out’ two PAs and shattering the confidence of another member of palace staff – with one former aide branding Prince Harry and his wife ‘outrageous bullies’ in The Times earlier this week. A group of at least ten ‘hugely professional’ royal aides who are ‘proud of their efforts’ are ‘queuing up’ to help the palace’s probe, reports suggest. A source told The Mirror: ‘A group of people are queuing up to be involved. They have been silent for too long and there is much to talk about.’

A source last night told The Times that the palace were not ‘peddling disinformation or conducting any kind of campaign ahead of the interview’ – with the allegations ‘clearly not […] coming from us’.

The palace did not warn Meghan and Harry prior to announcing their probe – which the couple will not be a part of since they relinquished position as working members of the family, The Daily Telegraph reports. They still hope to be kept up to speed with what the investigation will entail and want to be informed if formal bullying accusations emerge. A source close to the Sussexes said: ‘If it was an investigation into them, of some description, there would have to be a formal process where we would have to be involved. A formal HR investigation involves formal accusations.’

Staff will be able to bring up specific conflicts, but the review will mostly focus on how complaints were handled, a palace insider said.

[From The Daily Mail]

Prince William’s really going to pretend that Meghan and Harry didn’t think/know that he was leaking sh-t about them too? William’s right-hand man Jason Knauf literally called up the Times of London THIS WEEK. Honestly, Meghan and Harry probably did believe that Kate, Camilla, Charles AND WILLIAM were part of the smear campaign. They thought that because it was true! There were genuinely nefarious, shadowy forces in three royal courts working (in a half-assed way) to smear and abuse a pregnant American woman.

Speaking of half-assed, British people really love to queue, huh. I doubt there were even ten staffers working in any capacity with the Sussexes in 2018. Staffers are going to queue and then testify Tekashi69-style. “Megs made me cry, I heard she was talkin’ sh-t about corgis, I felt emotionally abused, guv.”

This show is just ridiculous. All these years the poor bullied courtiers suffered in silence and had to keep it to themselves. They were bursting with grievances, keeping secret notebooks full of petty complaints that they would have loved to tell to the whole world, and now the looming interview has blown up a dam. Everything goes!

    • Amy Bee says:

You’re right. Robert Jobson said on gma that BP has opened a can of worms by order an investigation into this.

      • L84Tea says:

I was confused last night on Twitter and I am confused today. Did William come out and make some personal statement or something? Or is this the DM article? I try not to click on those so I am in the dark.

      • Becks1 says:

I think this is the DM article and its just “a source” but we are all assuming the source is either William himself or Jason Knauf or someone similar, who is talking to the press with William’s blessing, since the source so obviously leaves William out of the discussion.

    • Isabella says:

“Hugely professional” is exactly the kind of phrase the Keens would use. I can’t imagine any of the others doing that.

  2. Kalana says:

Has William finally realized how his exercise in DARVO is actually playing out?

Nobody believes him. There’s a twitter thread with 100k likes on all this and one tweet calls William out for being a terrible brother and the comments are full of references to William cheating on Kate and attacking Meghan to deflect.

    • Cecilia says:

Blew up right in their face. the windsors are doing damage to their own brand just fine. Their pr department is led by amateurs

      • Brit says:

And they keep letting these experts and commentators like big mouth Piers Morgan speak for them and continued harassment. It’s not making the country and that family look good. The Queen and Charles should’ve nipped in the bud when the Sussexes literally left the country but noooo, they gotta feed the beast they sold their souls to.

      • Em says:

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

        Go on Will, out yourself.

      • Eleonora says:

I think some of these people are so wrapped up in their bubble that they don’t even realize it.

This doesn’t make them look good abroad, and I’m not just talking about the US.

    • Cerceau says:

@Kalana Can you link to the twitter thread?

To anyone who has dealt with a toxic family it’s so obvious what the Windsors are up to right now. DARVO is right. They are so utterly predictable.

    • Izzy says:

I honestly don’t think William realizes just how badly this is all backfiring. Maybe some of his staff do. Maybe. But they all seem to suck at their job and constantly suck up to The Duke of Keenbridge, who fancies himself a PR genius. I doubt he’s keeping up with the full extent of the online response, and I doubt his staff are telling him because they are probably tired of his constant incandescent rage.

      • cassandra says:

All the biographies of Charles emphasize that he’s surrounded by sycophants. I bet it’s the same for William

      • HeyJude says:

The staff are just as delusional and disturbed as William, frankly. No one with any type of personal ethical code and a lick of sense would do this work for that ghastly man.

Much like with Donald Trump, when you’re totally repugnant as a person all your staff are going to be slimeballs or unwell fangirls/boys.

    • Sandra says:

I’m just imagining William living all alone in the main house at Sandringham making very stupid decisions and raging at this Jason dude to put out these headlines that are just digging him deeper. Now he’s throwing Kate under the bus? Jesus.

    • Andrea says:

Ohhh I would love to see a link on that!! I’m old and have trouble finding the best most meaty (and reliable) Twitter convos!! Any direction would be amazing. I’m PRAYING this nonsense has opened a can of worms for them, it’s long past time!

      • Kalana says:

I can’t post links but try searching:

“I don’t keep up with the British tabloids.

But, Harry getting revenge on his family for what they did to his mother is very fucking much my jam.”

  3. Myriam says:

What can you say about a man willing to throw his own wife under the bus? William is a POS

    • MattyLove says:

Right?!?! Probably the same kind of man who would cheat on his wife and then make his wife go to social events with the mistress…

    • Myra says:

It’s also interesting the lengths they go to just to protect William. They will throw Charles under the bus if they have to. It’s as if they’ve given up on the idea that Charles would ever be king and if he ever is, it wouldn’t be for long. Charles doesn’t inspire stability. The Palace will therefore swing at everyone and anyone in order to keep William above the fray. He is the future of the monarchy after all. The problem with that is that all roads lead to Kensington Palace.

      • Belli says:

Even if Charles’ image is a lost cause, there has been for a long time a sentiment of “Oh it’s ok though because he won’t rule for long before William takes the throne and he’s better, if only the crown could skip Charles for William”.

I agree that the future of the monarchy depends on maintaining William’s reputation and that’s why the palaces are defending it so aggressively. Having Charles on the throne for a short time when you’ve got someone decent coming afterwards, but if William’s terrible too then if could be 50 years before George is crowned and why should the public trust that he’ll end up being different in such a dysfunctional family? (I really hope he does, I feel a bit protective of the Cambridge children because of the environment they’re growing up in).

      • Snappyfish says:

        I’m Team Charlotte.

      • notasugarhere says:

Charles will be king, and no, his image isn’t horrible. The only people who cling to that idea are devout Diana fans, which is just a handful of people in the UK. Most people in the UK do not care about royals, and certainly do not care about a failed first marriage thirty years ago. More people worry about Charles interfering in govt things than his marriage(s), but William has been caught out meddling in govt affairs too.

Charles has been the most effective POW in history. He’s raised hundreds of millions in charity funds. His stability is not in question, but William’s is. Once QEII passes, Charles will likely be king for two decades. Billy will be divorced, remarried, and still complaining about not being able to accomplish anything in his role.

      • Myra says:

I’m not thinking about stability in terms of his image re:Diana or otherwise but in terms of his longevity as a monarch. It will be hard to promote him as the future of the monarchy because of his current age. It’s easier to promote William as the face of the future, which is why I think the establishment and the institutions propping it will go all out to protect William.

      • Lady D says:

Charles can also fire any establishment members not playing along? He could completely restaff that palace when he becomes king couldn’t he? These men in grey don’t have tenure or something like that so they can be fired, right?

      • Golly Gee says:

@Lady D: I think the grays have a lot of inside dirt on that family, and thus blackmail fodder. That’s why they hold a lot of power. I don’t think they would be so easy to fire.

      • Tessa says:

It’s not only Charles that treated Diana badly it was HM who did not have prayers read for Diana The Morning Diana died at morning Church Services with the boys there. I read the Lacey book and it was rather sinister how he described the teas with Will and the Queen, probably indoctrinating him and WIlliam comes off as one coldhearted person especially with his brother.I do mind a lot the way CHarles let William treat Harry that way and force him out. ANd just watch how Archie was likened to a chimp, I think William is not a breath of fresh air and he is not the GOlden Prince anymore he looks sour and angry a lot Charles had a work ethic Wiliam does not. William has a bad attitude and is out of touch arguably more so than Charles. Charles could have helped redeem himself by his treating Meghan and Harry better and openly defending them
        . He wimps out.

      • notasugarhere says:

His father is turning 100 in June, provided he’s around that long. Charles is 72. He could easily be king for 35-30 years. That is stability, especially in the face of his feckless older son.

    • Becks1 says:

We all knew he would do this and it was just a matter of time. Kate has always been expendable to William.

      • notasugarhere says:

She’s expendable to her own mother. Carole’s goal was her grandchild being heir to the throne.

      • Tessa says:

When I see the smug photos of Kate and read all the how “great” she is by the stans I think how she is not immune to being ditched. She is expendable as a married in. ANd if he falls for someone else and wants Kate out it will happen. Diana having two boys was no insurance policy. I don’t think William would feel reluctant to divorce because of “the children.” He would set up a shared custody plan like his father did.

      • notasugarhere says:

I don’t think William would be reluctant to divorce either. He’d couch it in terms of everybody’s mental health, co-parenting, etc. But he doesn’t want that divorce to be seen as a result of his affairs, so he has to hold off for now on publicly sidelining Kate. Privately? Good chance they’re already living separately-but-secretly on the vast Sandringham estate.

      • February-Pisces says:

I do think one of willies motives in smearing Meghan was to push her out the door. If harry got divorced it would open the divorce door for Willie.

  4. Brit says:

You can tell the media are this close to blowing up Williams spot, lol. This interview was sold to almost 60+ countries and the families attempts to stall or pressure to cancel the interview didn’t work. The British press has been called out over and over again. The double standards are there to see. And many especially in the states aren’t buying it. This is above Harry and Meghan now, this is leading into a battle between the Rota/Media and the remaining royals. Harry and Meghan aren’t willing to sit back and take it anymore and the media is losing out time especially financially. Getting in bed with the tabloids was the worst mistake they could’ve ever made.

    • ArtHistorian says:

In the long term, I think this mess is going to be even bigger and more damaging to the BRF than the whole situation around Diana. Firstly, because Diana died and when the public attention about this subsided, the Windsors went to work PR wise. Diana was alone and I think that she made some unfortunate choices before she died. Harry and Meghan have each other (and a solid circle of friends, some of whom are very powerful) and I think that they are more strategic than Diana was. They are going to thrive henceforth with their work and their brand is already global in a way that BRF won’t be able to match. Also, it seems like William is completely unable to restrain himself – and it doesn’t help that he seems to be a lot like his uncle Andrew (minus the pedophilia) – i.e. arrogant, entitled and really stupid. Just imagine what’s he going to be like when he’s king? I think he’s inflicting a lot of damage on the institution he’s eventually going to lead because he’s not that smart, can’t think long-term and may have anger and impulse control issues.

William and the Palaces are playing to a small but load crowd – not realizing that they are putting a LOT of other people off the institution. They are actively hurting their own brand rn. Globally they are a lost cause now though they only really need a UK approval – however, it is really hard to judge how they are generally received in the UK because of the manner in which the media skews the perspective (paid commenters, bots, etc.). I also think that respect for the Queen is carrying a lot of the acceptance of the monarchy because she’s been around forever. Charles and Williams shouldn’t bank on that respect automatically transferring to them.

      • ItReallyIsYou,NotMe k8 says:

@ArtHistorian you have some really good points about how M&H will be harder to outlast than Diana.

      • Couch potato says:

I think you’re right ArtHistorian. The times has changed as well. We have social media now. There’s much more focus on womens rights, BLM and mental health, and now the whole world knows they’re protecting Andrew. They’re protecting him while running a witch hunt on Meghan. On top of that, the new generations are watching the crown while the attacks on M&M plays out in real life. Everyone can see the history repeating itselves. They were irrelevant to many brits, but they are causing huge image and trust issues with the younger generations.

      • ArtHistorian says:

        @couchpotato
Yes, times have most definitely changed. Current events outside of the royal sphere + social media creates a very different playing field – and the Palace(s) don’t seem to recognize this (which is what happens when they are insulated by privilege and only hire people from a very limited social-economic and ethnic circle – they are blinded social and racial privilege).

The fact that The Crown has reached the Diana years while this situation with Meghan and Harry plays out in real time, is really really unfortunate for the BRF. It is like a perfect storm that has hit the BRF – but it is of their own making and they are utterly blind to how they look outside of the royal bubble and the echo chamber of the British right-wing media. All of this BEFORE the interview has even aired! Most critical thinking people can see that the royals are TERRIFIED of what Meghan and Harry MIGHT say. And that makes people ask “why are they so scared?” Going nuclear in retaliation to an interview that has happened yet is like a tell-tale heart.

      • Nic919 says:

I would add that Harry being Diana’s son and having lost her tragically at a very young age also adds a level of pathos that Diana didn’t have. The globally disseminated image of the young boys following her casket is seared into the memory of everyone who was a teen and older at the time. That’s a lot of Gen X and boomers and many of them won’t ever forget how poorly that family responded in the first place.

And social media is amplifying the voices that are critical of the British establishment in a way that did not exist even back in 1997.

I would add that the biggest loser here is William. Charles already had a stain because of how he treated Diana and so there were always lowered expectations. He’s also been less obvious in what has happened here. William was viewed as golden and another of Diana’s sons which he benefitted from for decades. However, his actions against his brother have been obvious and the shine has worn off. Brits really should be concerned about future King Billy because if you take this with his covid stupidity, his open disdain of his wife etc. there is no sign of someone who has any sensible leadership skills. Just a hothead who blows when he doesn’t get his way.

      • Kitty says:

I agree they shouldn’t bank on Thee Queen’s respect for them. Everyone knows she’s the one holding the firm together. If they had been smart Harry and Meghan would have carried the firm for another generation .

      • Becks1 says:

Agree with all your points @ArtHistorian. I think the Queen is really carrying the family now, PR-wise- look at social media and the news shows – its about “disrespecting the queen,” not the monarchy, not the UK, not Charles, not William. When the Queen dies, I think there will be a huge amount of support for the royals, because that’s what happens, and then it will fade away after her funeral and after the novelty of Charles as king wears off, and with Charles that will probably happen very quickly, and then we’ll see how much of the respect the Queen gets now is transferred to charles or william.

Harry and Meghan are not isolated like Diana was and they have a global reach and platform, powerful friends, and they are already working with their foundation, which I think silences a lot of criticism. I think their very existence outside of the royal family, even after the fallout from this interview subsides, is going to be a huge problem for the royals.

Add to all of that William’s behavior this past week and the royal family has a significant problem on their hands. William cant spend the next 50 years just smearing Harry and Meghan because he’s jealous. I mean he can, but its not a good look.

      • Rapunzel says:

Let’s also note: Harry has worked on his mental health in a way Diana never did. He’s got the tools, along with the support system.

      • Tessa says:

People do remember the smear campaign lodged against Diana as early as ca. 1985. And she was accused of all sorts of things including being”mean”to a nanny. They are using the same tactics with Harry and Meghan and those of a certain generation picked up on this and are not rushing out to agree with the monarchy. Also Andrew’s situation being brushed off by the royals makes it look even worse.

    • Christine says:

Kitty, I agree with you completely. If those royal bozos had just recognized that Harry and Meghan were bringing an entirely different group of eyes to the royal family, in an incredibly positive way, they ALL could have benefited for DECADES. It is absolutely stunning how wrong they all read the room.

  5. Cecilia says:

So meghan is not going to be investigated but the palaces HR department? Did i get that right?

William will throw anybody under the bus won’t he?

    • BayTampaBay says:

I did not get that either as it seems to me to make no sense.

My understanding from yesterday’s story is the no formal complaint was filed so what could the palace HR department do?

      • Cecilia says:

It says that they are going to investigate how the complaint was “handled”. Handeling complaints seems like the job of the HR department no? I also wonder how you’re going to investigate how a complaint was handled when that complaint was rescinded.

      • Jais says:

I’m feeling really angry and confused about this investigation. 10 people queued up to report about Meghan bullying? Or just to talk shit about her? It just feels like open season sanctioned by buckingham. And are these type of investigations usually so public before any conclusions are drawn? Wtf

      • Lady D says:

Harry needs to demand an independent inquiry into the bullying claims.

      • Amy Too says:

And those 10 people are extremely proud of their efforts. Their efforts to smear Meghan? Their efforts to make their lies into an investigation? What other efforts could they be proud of in relation to this?

Also, this is supposed to be about Meghan being a huge bully and today’s example of Meghan being a bully is Harry yelling at someone.

      • Couch potato says:

I think Kensington Palace’s smear campaign (Meghan bullying staff members) forced Buckingham Palace to make a “statement” about HR investigating (to avoid law trouble). Both palaces “statements” backefired on the RF, and the people over at Kensington have realised this investigation is not going to make them look good. Now Kencington Palace (a.k.a. Willnot) are trying to do damage control. Separate courts playing separate games.

      • notasugarhere says:

Will they investigate the rumour that one of these people was fired because she was sleeping with Knauf? Or will #PoorJason cover that up?

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Assuming that anything in this article is true, I can’t help but see that they didn’t say these people were coming forward to complain about Meghan. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there isn’t any number of people who did work with her who are willing to come forward and let them know how preposterous these claims are. Here’s another thought: What if people are coming forward to lodge complaints against OTHER members of the royal family? Wouldn’t that serve them right!

    • Golly Gee says:

Plus the fact that the review will focus mostly on how complaints were handled rather than specific conflicts. Is that because they have no specific conflicts that they can point to? (In other words they were lying ). This makes me think that by keeping it vague, there won’t be anything specific that Harry and Meghan can refute.

  6. Silver Charm says:

They are so transparently vindictive and this is so dumb. I’m pretty indifferent on Royal stuff but this makes me hate them.

  7. Mac says:

I think they’re right about KP, CH, and BP, but I don’t think Camilla has enough f*cks left to give to run to the press.

    • Southern Fried says:

While I think Camilla enjoys cruelty. What we know is the way she treated Diana for years.

      • Becks1 says:

yeah but she treated Diana that way when Diana was a threat to her. Meghan isnt a threat to Camilla at this point. She doesnt care about publicity – she’s had her PR comeback and I think she’s good with it – I dont event think she doesnt even care about being royal that much, besides wearing the big Saudi jewels. I just dont see Camilla caring enough about Meghan to actively participate in this, ESPECIALLY since she’s made some interesting comments about William that gives the impression she does not like him.

      • Jais says:

So could this just be a leak from William to make Camilla thus Charles look bad? Or maybe Charles was intimidated by their success after the tour and asked Camilla to go to the papers for him?

      • Lizzie says:

I remember reading Camilla was against William marrying Kate because everyone would love Kate and hate her. They all have a weird idea that if someone is popular they must be destroyed and Camilla is no different.

      • Becks1 says:

@Jais – the actual article lists Charles as well. I think this is William throwing them all under the bus.

I dont think Camilla has ever been a big fan of Kate but we also never saw any active smears against Kate like we have against Meghan. Clarence House protected her.

I’m not saying Camilla wouldn’t have dropped a tidbit about Meghan here and there if asked, but I dont think running Meghan out of the royal family was #1 on her priority list. I do think it was #1 on the Cambridges.

      • notasugarhere says:

I doubt Camilla would care about William marrying Kate. I mean, none of the royals wanted William to marry Kate, that’s part of why he did it. Camilla knows who/what Kate is, and was never going to be worried about Kate.

      • Tessa says:

Camilla in her own way is establishment. Now she is “one of them” she goes along with the royals. She even was said to have a huge sphere of influence when she was the married mistress. As far as “everyone loving Kate” instead of Camilla, Camilla IMO had nothing to worry about. Kate’s lack of work ethic and later on how she showed her true self glaring at Meghan and Harry, did not make her exactly endearing. Diana was a threat to Camilla because Camilla had much to lose if the Wales marriage “took.” Camilla undermined Diana and according to Sun Editor Stuart Higgins she would call him up with “inside stories.” Maybe if Kate gets on her nerves and starts lecturing her like she did with Meghan, Camilla can let a “tidbit” out about Kate.

    • Nic919 says:

I agree that Camilla is least likely to have been involved in any of the leaks. Her position is secure and Meghan was never a threat to her, unlike Meghan was for Kate and in a way William. None of the stories about tiaras or crying over tights would be something she would have direct knowledge of.

Camilla had a stake in having the press attack Diana, but not here.

      • notasugarhere says:

I don’t see a role for Camilla in this either. She’s secure.

      • L4frimaire says:

Camilla is in her 70s. No one is paying that much attention to her now because quite frankly, ageism and the press are no longer that interested in her. Part of the issues with the dynamic with Meghan and Harry is that they are all so similar in age and much easier to compare and contrast. There was a lot of jealousy and insecurity among the royals. All those headlines about Meghan trying to change the monarchy were about people’s changing expectations. They’ll never admit but they liked the glamour and excitement she brought but resented the fact that she was a complete outsider in every way, and her presence put pressure on Will and Kate. I had no idea that they were basically part time royals until 2016, when coincidentally Harry started dating this actress who had some substance behind her. They knew about her long before we did and already had thoughts, to put it mildly.

    • The Hench says:

It’s William. The problem is and always has been William.

THAT’S the reason we haven’t heard a peep from Charles because he can’t side – or doesn’t want to have to side – with one of his children over another. It’s a horrible situation for any parent.
It’s the reason everybody BUT William has been fingered for the leaks.
It’s the reason that the staffers named are the ones working directly for William.
It’s the reason that none of the palaces tried to shut down the negative stories when they sally out at the drop of a hat to refute the writing on The Crown (CH) or mention of wiglets and botox (KP).
It’s the reason William refused even to join the Queen and Prince Charles’ lunch with Harry before their exit talks despite the fact he was right next door at Anmer.

William has been told all his life he’s the best, he’s the special one, he’s the heir. Then his little brother ups and betters him at EVERYTHING – better at flying helicopters, better at being a military ‘hero’, better at royal duties, better with people, better hair, better looking, better at ideas and, to cap it all, he lands a stunning, accomplished, intelligent, successful, sexy woman who is better than William’s wife in every possible way.

And William is EATEN with jealousy and envy. That’s why the attacks didn’t stop when H&M left because then they went and earned more money than William and bought a lovely house and he just can’t stand it. Only someone in the grip of that kind of emotional overload behaves this crazily.

      • South African Girl says:

        I support this analysis 100%.

It’s George the 3rd and George the 4th all over again.
I suspect the active instigators, aside from all those courtiers and aides, are the Keens. Charles seems to have been pretty passive aggressive about it all though when he could have put his foot down publicly early on. I doubt Camilla is involved much beyond being supportive of Charles in this mess.
But, man, this is a messed up family. The Cambridge kids are going to be lucky if they come out of this anything like well-adjusted between the Windsor dysfunction and the Middletons’ glory seeking.
Harry and Meghan come across as pretty smart.

I think the treatment of Willnot and Cannot along with Charlie go lucky is horrible

    • Margaret says:

Look back a couple of years back it was reported that Camilla was talking to, and buying and sending cases of whiskey to meghan’s father. Reported she had weekly discussions with the old man.

      • iconoclast59 says:

@Margaret, I Googled and the only article I found was from an Australian publication called New Idea. It reads like some twisted fan fiction. Judging by that and the other headlines on their website, New Idea is complete tabloid trash.

      • notasugarhere says:

New Idea is the worst of the worst Aussie tabloids. No facts to be had in their pages.

      • twoz says:

It’s known as No Idea for a reason.

  8. Edna says:

Wow. This shit is getting crazier and crazier. PWT is like a raging bull in a China shop. Totally out of control. Everything is being thrown at the Sussexes, particularly Meghan. BP and CH need to regain control or PWT/KP is gonna bring them all done. This only serves the purposes of the British Media to generate clicks and revenue.

    • The Hench says:

Commented above then saw your comment – which was much more succinct than my ramble! Yes. Exactly.

  9. Digital Unicorn says:

The gloves are OFF – while I don’t think the interview itself contained anything like this but the RF’s and household(s) reactions have blown this whole thing wide open.

Am a little surprised at Cams but given her past history of leaking about Diana its not really that surprising. Seems the women in the Wales household were triggered by Meghan and her popularity.

DROP THE RECEIPTS – we know you have them!!!

The Sussex’s are fighting back – this will not end well for them all, esp the Cambridges.

UK Twitter yesterday was a thing of beauty – they were all over this, calling the RF out for not investigating Prince Andrew but are investigation a bi-racial American woman because of unfounded accusations that the people involved asked to be withdrawn.

    • Brit says:

They tried to get the US media to turn on her and it didn’t work because we aren’t stupid. It was painfully obvious what they were pulling and it backfired. Its not the 1960s anymore. It’s 2021 and people aren’t falling for the charades anymore and until the get that Andrew situation handled, going after Meghan is only damaging them, not her.

    • lemonylips says:

UK twitter was brilliant yesterday. I follow a lot of guys who usually call out tory government and up until few days ago none of them cared about royal family. apart from calling out andrew. but this week – my gosh – they all went totally team sussex and i finally noticed how many people who couldn’t care less about rf are mad atm.

      • L4frimaire says:

It seems that there is a lot of frustration with the government over there. In regards to Covid response, Brexit, the cronyism in spending, how corruption is pushed under the rug and how the royal family continue to spend and get extra funds, even now. It seems part of the backlash is seeing how all the press can gather to attack the Sussexes but not criticize legitimate government misconduct and mismanagement. The Sussexes have been a huge shield for the rest of the Royals. With them gone and saying enough with attacking us, the royals are now exposed.

      • lemonylips says:

precisely that. i am soooo looking forward to monday.

    • Miranda says:

Then UK Twitter has made me very happy. That has to be the most outrageous thing about all of this, the fact that no one has said or done a goddamn thing about a f–king child predator in the RF (oh wait, I forgot, he doesn’t get to go to mummy’s party this year. Poor dear, that’s worse than crucifixion!), and they are so desperate to help him get away with it that they’ll make up lies about arguably the most popular royal and turn his wife into the Wicked Witch of the West Coast.

    • RoyalBlue says:

I have seen many UK Twitter saying they support Meghan and Nicola Sturgeon, because the right wings are going all out with blatant attacks on both of those women. It’s literally WAR.

    • Couch potato says:

You have to remember this is most likely coming from Willnot, and certainly not from the Sussexes. It’s very telling when he’s not mentioned as one of the suspected leaks. This is the PwT trying to do damage control and throughing everyone else, including his wife under the buss.

    • Bloemheks says:

I don’t think they can drop very many receipts, because Royal communications and documents are sealed for so long. It may be 20 years before we see these receipts.

  10. Nev says:

    Of course.
    Kaiser the Camilla pic?!!!!!!
    SHADE.

  11. Lemons says:

All of a sudden, Willileaks isn’t a part of all this, and Kate is acting on her own.
Camilla, who has largely managed to stay out of things, is being drug into the fray.

    Will Charles step in now?

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I think Chuck will now be forced to push back against his son and DIL – this is only the beginning. Lots of people on here have been saying that its only a matter of time before a PR war breaks out between Charles and the Cambridges and this might be what kicks that off.

Interesting the investigation is NOT about the claims but about how they were managed? Interesting!!

      • JT says:

William is throwing everyone under the bus right now. It’s seems he didn’t want to be the only one called out in this half cocked smear campaign, so he’s throwing the entire family under the bus. The “bullying” claims clearly came from him as Jason and Simon are his boys. The palace is worried about H&M but it looks like William is burning it all down out shear obsession and stupidity.

      • Sunday says:

I agree that’s what this is building to, and I think that’s why Charles has stayed out of the public fray, because he’s a coward and doesn’t want that incandescent william smoke. I think Charles is trying any way he can to avoid making a statement, perhaps still under the illusion that it’s more dignified to just be silent (spoiler, chuck: it’s not), because he’s pragmatic enough to know that anything he says will leave him open to attacks from all sides, not really a great look for someone itching to be crowned in the next few years. I really think William’s motivation in all of this is to skip his father in the line of succession and get to that throne, no matter the cost. That’s why Harry and Meghan’s popularity was such an immediate threat to him that he felt he needed to crush – he needs to be seen as the popular, better option than his father, and to him that was impossible with Harry and Meghan always stealing his spotlight.

      • Becks1 says:

This is how we know this is William throwing everyone under the bus, because its so phenomenally stupid. Charles has worked too hard to rehabilitate Camilla to see that thrown away shortly before he becomes king just because William is having a hissy fit. Charles is going to fight back now and its about to get even uglier.

      • Sofia says:

@Sunday I agree. By Charles staying silent he “provokes” nobody including William. It’s cowardly but that’s Charles for you.

      • swirlmamad says:

They got what they wanted — they drove the Sussexes out of England. All they had to do after that point was shut the hell up and smugly enjoy the fruits of their evil labor. But NOOOOO….they had to keep going and obsessively hammer at this couple till they were completely and utterly destroyed. And for what? Jealousy???? It’s so beyond sick. Who would’ve thought William would turn out to be such a terrible person….although I guess the clues were there, and I, as an American, who had deluded ideas about the idea of what it was to be royalty, didn’t pay enough attention until Meghan came on to the scene and outed the dark side of the RF. I loved Diana and was so sad when she died, and always followed Will and Harry after that. It’s just wild what a 180-degree turn my opinion of Will has taken. He’s an awful, damaged, shell of a man, and I agree with you all that his obsessive need for power and to be seen as the best is what is driving this. He doesn’t deserve to be king. I hope it never happens for him.

      • ArtHistorian says:

I don’t think that William is campaigning for getting his father kicked out of the Line of Succession (that can’t be changed willy-nilly and the BRF really don’t want to open this can of worms because the entire institution rests on the concept of primogeniture) – because that would mean that he wouldn’t be able to coast along doing practically nothing, and William doesn’t want to work I think he perfectly fine where he is rn though and that he’s looking forward to getting his hands on the Duchy of Cornwall funds but he isn’t constitutionally obliged to work until he becomes king.

I think William simply can’t help himself – it has been said in a recent biography that William has anger issues, I bet he also has impulse control issues. This recent chapter in the smear campaign is William going off the rails in blatant manner that is unusual, even for him. Usually, he and his office hides behind anonymous sources but now Knauf and Case’s names are out in the open regarding this mess and they are current and past employees of William.

      • Sunday says:

@ArtHistorian you’re probably right; I have an admittedly out-there tinfoil tiara theory that, given brexit and the obvious close coordination/communication between william, kp and the tory gov’t, and the reality that the last thing the tory gov’t wants is an anti-monarchy movement, and william has absolutely zero faith in his father to be the figurehead after the queen. william is a complete narcissist and believes himself the savior and king the uk needs, and i’m sure the tories would much prefer right-wing william over cowardly charles, as william would be much more malleable and willing to work with them to advance their nationalist agenda. I’m sure he doesn’t view being king as requiring him to work because he thinks that rules don’t apply to him, he’s above it all and can change anything he wants to once he’s king. I don’t think his hairbrained scheme would actually succeed, but I think he believes it will, and I think Knauf does too. that’s why he has to so completely stamp Harry’s popularity into the ground, because if the throne is up for grabs he needs to make sure Harry isn’t looked to as a wishful, if completely impossible, option.

      • Nic919 says:

The skip a generation thing will never happen because once you do that you don’t need to land on William but really you could skip his family and go straight to Harry.

Part of me is wondering if Charles will assist with uncovering William’s gardening activities to a wider public. Because if William is shown to be a cheater as well, and is now wildly attacking his own brother and permitting racist attacks against his sister in law, maybe Charles looks a lot better in comparison.

      • ArtHistorian says:

        @Sunday

Do you live in Britain or in a constitutional monarchy? Because this theory of yours sounds very much like how an outsider could think that things might possibly change. Putting things in motion to remove the current Prince of Wales, the direct heir, from the Line of Succession will NEVER happen (and I don’t think that even William thinks that this is possible). It would open op the question of the very foundation on which any constitutional monarchy rests. David (later Edward) was actively distrusted by members of the government BEFORE he became King but it was always unthinkable to remove him while he was the heir because that creates a huge crack in the foundation of the institution itself. A Monarch can abdicate – and the Line of Succession can be changed (and has been in fx Denmark and Sweden) to accommodate the changing times, i.e. adopting absolute primogeniture, meaning that the firstborn regardless of gender inherits the throne.

To be blunt, I think your theory is completely tinfoil and I doubt that William thinks like this because even he knows how the monarchy works.

I’m sorry if I come across as harsh but I just get tired when people keep misunderstanding how a constitutional monarchy works on the most fundamental level. I know that this is down to Diana saying that Charles should be skipped but she only did that to damage Charles’ reputation – she knew that it was never a real possibility. Plus, regardless of the KP/Tory axis, the British government are going to be busy for many years with handling the consequences of Brexit and COVID. They are not going to bother with starting a fight the Prince of Wales who’ll most definitely won’t go gently into the night. KP might float this narrative as part of a low-key PR war with CH but there is NO chance that anything concrete will come of it.

      • Sunday says:

@ArtHistorian, like I said, you’re probably right, and my theory is tinfoil, so not sure how i could have possibly made that more clear. I guess my larger point is, it doesn’t matter how possible it is or not, william WANTS people to want him to be king instead of his father, and he thinks that by setting that narrative and applying pressure he might not be able to actually skip his father, but he can sure as hell shorten his reign so we don’t end up in another situation with a 95-year-old heir as the second in line goes gray (or bald…er) waiting for their time on the throne. william wants what harry and meghan had on that balcony, and unfortunately doesn’t realize that you can’t win hearts and minds by force.

      • Couch potato says:

As @ArtHistorian has pointed out, “skip a generation” goes against the laws. The RF or the Torys won’t dare to touch that law with a fire poke. Same goes for stripping H&M’s titles. It would open up a giant can of worms, that would put the whole aristocracy and monarchy up for question. It could be their downfall once and for all. The “skip a generation” campaign is however fuel to Willnots ego, and probably a sore spot for Charles. Willnot knows it’s not going to happen, but he and the RR keeps pushing it to their right wing readers, who quite frankly aren’t the brightes and best educated crowd.

      • notasugarhere says:

It does go against the laws AND it would endanger the monarch-to-monarch tax-free inheritance of the private wealth.

    • notasugarhere says:

Charles has stepped in in his own way. As I detailed elsewhere, he has done what he can to support Harry and Meghan, in the face of not being able to handle incandescent William. The rental in the Cotswolds, the separate Household, Frogmore instead of forcing them to live next to W&K.

Bottom line, he knows Harry and Meghan are safer away from William.

      • Lemons says:

I believe this. I also think, at his age and with his upbringing, Charles simply no longer has the energy to fight toe-to-toe with William. He would be forced to have his courtiers act as proxy, and I imagine he’d rather not act at all out of fear.

      • Saucy&Sassy says:

Notasugarhere, I’ve been thinking about this since you first brought it up and explained it. I think there’s a lot of truth in what you say. Charles cannot have watched Will Not over the last 10 years (at least) and not seen who he was. And, I do think he has taken abuse from W for some time. Elder abuse is alive a well unfortunately. I’ve thought for some time since this was mentioned that Charles needs to have a couple of protection officers with him whenever he deal with W in person. I’d like to think that might temper some of W’s worse attributes. It also would protect Charles. It will make it easier in some ways for Charles to make the changes that really needs to be done when he becomes King. He also needs to stop having so many press offices. Just have one which he controls. Willie is be incandescent, but thems the breaks kid!

  12. Edna says:

Also, it looks like the RRs are starting to fabricate stories about Meghan’s “bullying” behavior during the Oceana tour. As if the RRs wouldn’t have reported then on any misbehavior.

    • sara says:

oh there is video footage of every minute of that tour and at the time the reason every gave for her leaving the site early was because it was too busy and she was too popular and her security didn’t feel the crowd control was safe enough. that is the easiest thing to disprove. william is really getting desperate.

    • Sunday says:

the focus on that tour is not coincidental – they’re trying to poke holes in what was obviously one of the highest peaks the monarchy has reached in years (and it’s not working).

    • swirlmamad says:

That balcony scene on the Oceania tour was the beginning of the end for the Sussexes. They looked every bit like the heir couple, and that stuck in W+K’s craw like nothing else. It all comes back to deep-seated jealousy. Shame.

      • notasugarhere says:

That and the success of Together the previous month. William did a PR stunt promising to help survivors of Grenfell. He did nothing. Meghan, behind the scenes and with no help from royal staff, got an entire cookbook done and launched. William is not only jealous of Harry’s happiness, his nose is severely out of joint about how easily Meghan put his PR efforts to shame.

  13. Sofia says:

He will truly help nobody but himself. While I continue to be of the faith him and Kate won’t ever divorce, this is a pretty good indicator of what he’ll do if they divorce or he decides he wants one.

Kate will get chucked under the bus along with everyone else not named William and a smear campaign will start towards her and her family.

    • Lanie says:

But what about that fake 4th baby they were so keen to tell Liz they were raw-dogging to achieve?

    • Digital Unicorn says:

Kate and her family were def involved in the smear campaign and if this continues to blow up he WILL throw them under the bus.

Personally I think William is done with Kate – her leaking stories is the perfect excuse to get a divorce as the RF and their machinery will protect him at all costs. She and her family have no chance – regardless of what dirt they think they have.

      • JT says:

Yep. I said it before but I think they’ve been setting her up to fall. I definitely believe she was involved, as was her mother, but involving Kate now, and so directly, seems ominous. The palace always needs a fall guy and Kate is probably in it up to her eyeballs as well. Unfortunately for her, William is the heir, she isn’t as popular as the press makes her out to be, and she’s been briefing the press for years. I wonder what she’s had to cover up?

      • Becks1 says:

Yup. I know some of us have said it here before – the easiest way for William to get rid of Kate is to blame her for Harry and Meghan leaving. “she drove out my beloved brother, she and her mother worked against Meghan” etc. And we are starting to see that happening.

      • Sofia says:

I think maybe mentally he’s done with the marriage and acts like he’s single but I don’t think he wants to or is ready to commit to that aka start proceedings.

He’s going to have to rehab his image because right now his image is the family man who married his college sweetheart. If he divorces from Kate, he loses the college sweetheart part and people will say he’s putting the stress of divorce on his young kids. So he’ll have the image of “divorced man who cheated on his college sweetheart and stressed his young kids out”. And he strikes me as too lazy to put effort into a big PR overdrive like Charles did.

But Kate doesn’t have the love the public had with Diana so maybe he won’t have to do a big PR overdrive.

      • JT says:

It would be so incredibly easy to pin it all on Kate. The firm is stuck with William, so they will go at nothing to protect him. And by going what they did/are doing to Meghan, it will be a complete cake walk. They’ve got 20 years of shenanigans to throw at her and her mother. All the scheming isn’t just forgotten by the press or the RF. I’m sure they have the receipts. Kate has gotten way too comfortable and ran unchecked for too long, at this point serving up Kate might be the only play eventually. They’re going to have to have some sort of explanation. Putting the smear on Kate’s extreme jealousy, ruthless social climbing, and conniving mother is enough to explain driving H&M out. Hell, most of this was said in the Tatler article; all they have to do now is be more direct and provide some evidence. Subtlety this time though, they can’t go full steam in two weeks like they did with Meghan. I expect the Lazy Katy moniker to be back soon enough.

      • Beach Dreams says:

Good point @JT. The Tatler article made William sound so painfully gullible that it would be easy for him to use that narrative to his advantage.

    • swirlmamad says:

Kate’s gonna claw tooth and nail to make sure he never, EVER files. This week has to have her running scared as to what will happen to her if he decides she’s dunzo.

      • JT says:

The Tatler bit seems almost like a premonition at this point, including W&K’s scatterbrained attempts at squashing it, only to give the story more coverage. Kate can go kicking and screaming all she wants to but unfortunately for her, she has nowhere else to but Bucklebury. Her reputation isn’t as pristine an Meghan’s; all of her bullshit was just whitewashed not forgotten. She has no powerful connections of her own like Meghan and Harry do. There will be nobody on her side to stick up for her. Her family is in it just as deep so they’ll be brought down as well. William will walk away unscathed as the naive prince who was used for the crown and forced to turn away his loving brother and SIL. Because at some point they come to realize they’ll need H&M to rehab their image, especially if they are as successful as predicted.

      • lanne says:

They really don’t want the media poking into the Middleton family finances.

      • bamaborn says:

Can’t believe this was one of my theories when the Tatler article came out. Even put forth the belief that Bill will find a way to divorce Kate when Betty passes on. Well, time will solve that theory.

      • Isabella says:

Tatler has a sympathetic story up right now on this latest Meghan ruckus. I was surprised. They actually seemed to like what H&M are doing .

      • Feeshalori says:

Really? I have to go read it. If Tatler is sympathetic that’s probably more to get their digs in at Kate because they don’t have any great love for Meghan.

  14. lanne says:

This is getting ridiculous. Someone needs to shut KP down and fire Knauf This is the Palace showing its ass to the world now. They are going to look like fools if the interview isn’t a big take down. Even bigger fools than they do now. William is out of control. Jason inaugural can make up anything at this point. Meghan and Harry have receipts. And do they really want to go into the inner workings of the Palace, with all of Williams incandescent rages to be leaked. They’re creating a situation where Meghan and Harry are the ones who can say “we’re taking the higher ground here.” Calling Meghan a bully didn’t work. Jewelrygate didn’t work. Last ditch effort? Pull out the women again: white women tears. I’m embarrassed for them right now. Amateur hour.

    • Kalana says:

Before the investigation announcement, I thought Charles would do just this but I’m not so sure about that now.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

I don’t think the interview is a take down – I think it’s more about getting their side of the story. People within the family and their staff have freaked the eff out when the clips were dropped – I guess we’ll find out soon what was actually said.

    • Sunday says:

at this point I don’t think it matters if the interview is a take down or not – before william’s little media fest, yes a take down would have left the Sussexes open to more criticism, but after this week-long absolutely unhinged, obviously coordinated attack by the palaces and uk media, they’ve sort of proved Meghan’s point and therefore anything that’s said in the interview will now be received within the context of the last week, making it clear she’s telling the truth. US media response to this smear campaign has been refreshingly sharp; they’re not buying the uk’s bs, and that will only help to make the post-interview coverage more Sussex-friendly given the toxic atmosphere radiating off the palace.

    • Becks1 says:

I still dont think the interview is going to be this huge takedown of the royals, but I do think its going to be more revealing than we previously expected.

The renewed bullying allegations are interesting to me – makes me think that someone contacted KP for a response to something that Meghan says in the interview (maybe something about Meghan having issues working with KP staff, feeling like they were working against her) and this is the preemptive rebuttal.

  15. popsicle_vp says:

All roads point to KP. I knew after the Tatler article that these fools were going quicken their own demise because of their stupidly and foolishness but I thought it would be at least a year or two. I am gobsmacked by timing. Wow. Seriously. Wow. Bring it on!

    • Brit says:

The media has been dropping hints about William and Kate for a while now, the only thing the Cambridge’s should be worried about is the media losing patience and start going after them now. With the Sussexes gone and the media getting sued, embarrassed, out scooped and losing money, it’s only a matter of time before someone is exposed. The Palace and media has only shown the double standards and harassment of Meghan to the US now with their actions these last few days and they’ve should’ve known better.

  16. aquarius64 says:

10 ex aides and unable to launch a defense or cross examine these people? KP just turned this process into a kangaroo court. I would like to know the social media response. And Harry and Meghan spent the summer of 2018 in Scotland with Charles and Camilla.

  17. sara says:

this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. pointing the finger at everyone else just proves it was william? well done william. you just proved it was all you and your jealousy, insecurity, and fear at being caught in your affair.

    • Sunday says:

It was HER and HIM and HER but DEFINITELY NOT WILLIAM, NOPE NOT AT ALL, NOTHING TO SEE HERE, FOCUS ON HER and HIM and HER, PLEASE! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

  18. Lauren says:

They had to even correct the article after they first published it, it first said that Meghan cried after the bridesmaids fitting and then fixed to say that Kate cried. They can’t keep track of the bullsht previously published. I’m sorry because I know that Meghan and Harry are hurting, but god I live for this gossip. The rf needs to hire some professional pr because they are always backtracking and regretting whatever they put out, but we know they are too cheap to do that and that they like their staff stupid, unprofessional and amateurish.

  19. Emma says:

Fabulous article this morning in the Independent from Funmi Olutoye:

Thanks for the link. Good to know that other voices in the UK are seeing the smear campaign for what it was from Day 1.

    • Prof Trelawney says:

Great article — thanks for posting. This jumped out to me — “The monarchy has bullied most of the world and renamed that bullying ‘The Commonwealth’. Let’s talk about it.”

      • Babz says:

That was a brilliant, scathing comment made about the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth is watching, and I suspect its members will be doing a lot of pondering in the future about whether or not it’s beneficial to remain in that body.

      • Becks1 says:

That may be one of my top 5 favorite lines about the royals, ever. I cant think of the other 5 now so dont ask me lol.

  20. Summerlover says:

So they are not going to involve H and M in an investigation about H and M bullying. How do they think this is going to make them look? Basically they are admitting they are going to be judge jury executioner without the defendants being given a chance to defend their case. Even the worst criminals in the world get to put forth their defense. Andrew got a chance to put his position forward, however idiotic it was. I am exhausted and depressed looking at this media character assassination. I pray H n M remain safe and healthy.

  21. Space Geek says:

Prince Incandescent really is a short sighted fool. When he forces the blame onto everyone else but himself, it’s obvious to all just who is responsible. He’ll bring the Windsors House of Cards crashing down around them but hey at least that means less keen ribbon cutting in his future. I hope Oprah does a follow-up interview and allow the Sussexes to rebut all of these ridiculous accusations. Better still if it’s already been covered in what will be shown on Sunday.

  22. RoyalBlue says:

It’s too late to fix anything
Now that everything has gone wrong
    Thanks to William (Ha!)
    Bully William
    It’s been William all along!

    [Outro (spoken): Prince William
And I kick the Queen’s Corgis too!
    *evil laughter*🎶

  25. Maevo says:

Wow, this is low even for William. And maybe I’m naive but I don’t think Camilla is particularly involved in all this. I feel like she wants to stay out of the drama of Diana’s kids. And I don’t think she is particularly looking forward to being Queen/princess consort either…

    • swirlmamad says:

This is my feeling as well. But again, maybe I’m naive too. I just don’t get that sense that she cares enough….she’s gotten her rep back to something near respectable, I doubt she wants to rock that boat.

  26. S808 says:

So everyone BUT William? lol yeah okay!

    • Brit says:

Right?! All I get from these stories are warnings and threats towards him. The media is so angry right now at him and you can see it.

  27. Over it says:

I asked this before but can someone please tell me where in any of Harry and Meghan speeches they asked for privacy? Cause I can’t find it anywhere. They said they wanted a peaceful life but I see nothing of them asking for privacy. Also can people on this please alert E daily pop that reading puss Morgan articles and actually seeing sense in anything he says is stupid. I am done with that show. The only one willing to call things as they are is Kim . The other two the man and the woman are terribly informed by British tabloid. Celebitchy is the only factual articles I read, Kaiser you are my hero.

    • Sunday says:

They never said they wanted to live a private life, they said that they did not want to work with the royal rota anymore and instead wanted to be able to use alternative media outlets independent from the palace. Under the rota arrangement, Meghan and Harry had to brief the rota on anything newsworthy they wanted to release, and as we saw the rota would immediately take that brief and spin it until it made Meghan look as bad as possible. Due to the wonderful syndicated, many times lazy journalistic news cycles we have now, once the rota published their version of events it would get picked up and syndicated across other, more reputable publications in the UK and US without the Sussexes ever having a chance to get their own version out there.

    • swirlmamad says:

OMG – I watched E! Daily Pop a couple of days ago and that Carissa chick pissed me off. Talking about she doesn’t really like Piers and thinks he’s sexist, etc but he does have a point about their “privacy request”. I’m like girl, have a seat….you clearly are looking at it thru your privileged gaze. They never, ever said they wanted to live like moles and never be heard from again….just that they wanted their livelihood respected! Justin and the other host (I forget her name now – is that Kim?) pushed back at her, the other host more than Justin but it was just really annoying to hear.

      • Tosca says:

They take turns being the “devil’s advocate” on that show, all the time. If you watch it for a season or two it becomes obvious. Behind the scenes, one of the hosts draws the short stick and then has to play the opposition, just so they can have a heated debate, stir up the viewers, and improve ratings.

  28. Merricat says:

The emotional immaturity displayed by the Cambridges is pretty astonishing. THIS is supposed to be the future of the monarchy? Sad trombone.

  29. Lainey says:

I don’t think Camilla would do this after all the hell she went through when she was exposed as mistress. I think will, kate and men in gray.

  30. Water Bearer. 💧 says:

What a c*ck up. The Firm were terrified about what Meghan might say in the interview that they thought they would get a head of the story by briefing aggressively against her, weaponising Philip’s ill health and then when that second teaser dropped briefed against her in the Times with Meghan bullied staff story. However, it’s all backfired because they’ve left the Firm so no longer bond by protocol. Meghan is no longer silenced. She’s got her voice back and is using it with good effect

  31. Jessie says:

This is a joke. Anyone who isn’t a MAGA/Brexiteer fool is fully aware of what William has done. Wondering when the American media will realize there’s money to be made in reporting the affair? We all know he orchestrated the smear campaign and it’s finally time to lay out the reasons why.

  32. Jay says:

Kate! The calls are coming from inside your house! Ruuuuuuun!

It doesn’t really matter to me if we can pinpoint the exact origin of the first negative leak about Meghan. They all participated in it, they all benefitted from it, and none of them did a single thing to stop it.

    • Jais says:

Ok that’s funny. It’s a horror/ comedy sh*tshow at this point and v true that it was all of them.

    • Dee says:

Lucky for Kate, I don’t think William has been living with her for a while.

    • Sid says:

Jay, as a horror movie fan I cackled so loud at this. What an absolute circus.

  33. Belli says:

“Meghan thinks it was everyone but William! She was blaming absolutely everyone but not William, no sir, it’s not William’s fault, he’s a calm and faithful and had nothing to do with it! Look over there!”

  34. Harper says:

Three more days of fun and games ahead of us courtesy of Prince Will the Genius. Look for him to admit to infidelity by Saturday night at the rate this is going just to keep Meghan from getting the press for revealing it.

  35. Neners says:

Oh please. While I think Kate is a piece of work, it’s obvious she doesn’t dare breathe unless her rage monster of a husband gives her permission. Ridiculous.

    • Merricat says:

Oh, I think Kate and her stage mother have done plenty on their own initiative.

      • Lizzie says:

For sure Kate was behind a lot. He spends as little time with her as possible and she and her family have gone after Meghan from the beginning. Tatler even said she was jealous that Meghan was so beautiful.

  36. windyriver says:

Am struck by the emphasis that this group of royal aides were “hugely professional” and “proud of their efforts” which highlights that, at the time, this is probably exactly what the problem was, that at least some of them were not functioning at the level that was needed, and expected given their positions. And that the palaces anticipate Meghan will retaliate for the bullying accusations by bringing this up. Interesting also considering the statement made a day or two ago that “People needed to be treated well and with some understanding, even when they were not performing to their standards.”

In other words, people weren’t doing the job Meghan needed them to do, and it was her fault for asking people that worked for her, to work.

Overall congrats to the Firm (cough William cough) for not following their own “don’t complain, don’t explain” mantra, thus ensuring what was originally a 90 minute piece to be broadcast in the US, is now an eagerly awaited two-hour event being carried by networks worldwide. That’s some gold standard effort right there.

  37. Amy Bee says:

The palace’s actions since leaking this story tell me this whole thing is a fraud and wasn’t well-thought out.

    • Becks1 says:

      completely agree. They are scrambling.

    • S808 says:

The hit job was hastily thrown together and not well thought out. The earrings narrative got shut down QUICKLY and the bully accusations are not being believed and receiving A LOT of pushback. BP have already said they’re investigating “how it was handled” instead of investigating the accusations. M&H won’t be apart of the investigation which sounds fishy but I doubt we hear much else about it.

      • What the Firm needs to investigate are the constant leaks to the media and their employees failing to legally abide by the NDA they all signed! If the Queen were hitting on all cylinders, she would immediately hire an independent group to come in and clean this mess up and probably end up having to Sh*t-can over half of BP, CH, and KP employees. If this level of dysfunction and unprofessional is allowed to continue, it’s only going to get more difficult for the Firm’s legitimacy from here on out. It’s obvious the British royal family has been seriously dysfunctional for many generations, but all this media-centric drama is going to blow the lid off the institution if they don’t find a way to at least muzzle their multitude of employees. It’s obvious the Royals themselves are incapable of self-muzzling.

      • Oh, and KAISER —- I love how you keep using last year’s Commonwealth photo of the 5 of them all in a line.

Will numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 please step forward. You have all been identified as being complicit in crimes against the Sussexes.

  38. sunny says:

Hahahahaha. As we have been saying on this site for years, William is so stupid. But what makes him dangerous is that he is a stupid man who thinks he is smart and has spent his entire life surrounded by sycophants. This response has been a PR disaster from start to finish and now old Willileaks is trying to throw everyone under the bus when it is obvious he has largely been in “Bully in Charge”.

I mean Kate is terrible and has played an enormous role in this BS to(and Charles’ hands aren’t clean either) but for William to think they can sell the story that he has had no involvement in this is truly astounding.

What I am fascinated by is how incompetent these royal offices are. How is Charles not interfering now? How aren’t people being fired? William needs his influence taken away because he is a moron who can’t understand the long game and has no media savvy. KP is tripping over its own feet here. You love to see it.

    • Nic919 says:

Knauf and Case did what they did because of William. They directly work for him and were involved in the flybe mess even before all this nonsense came out.

Kate is not innocent either, but she’s behind more of the stuff like the crying over tights incidents and letting her mother do an interview and openly slam Meghan’s work ethic.

      • sunny says:

I agree but my point was that you need to put people into William’s office who won’t bow down to his stupidity and terrible judgment. Charles needs to step in because KP is screwing them all.

      • Jaded says:

@sunny – I don’t think Charles will step in. I think he wants William to hang himself quite frankly and he’s giving him just enough rope to do it. Charles may be many things but stupid isn’t one of them. He plays the long game and, given his son’s inadequacies, will bring him to heel the more his PR f*ckups come to light.

      • boyd says:

who openly slammed Meghan’s work ethic? Kate or Carol

      • Feeshalori says:

Carole, and l believe that comment refers to when she very snarkily said in an interview that being a royal isn’t all about giving speeches after Meghan gave some well-delivered speeches. She knew how awful Kate looked in comparison and fired that shot.

    • swirlmamad says:

They will never, ever hire anyone to hold William accountable. Because keeping the future monarch in check JUST ISN’T DONE. Who on earth would take that role when it’s never been considered before? It would be a suicide mission. If his own grandmother, the Queen, and father, the next in line King, won’t stand up to him, there’s no way on earth some underling hired to work for him ever will.

  39. swirlmamad says:

Give. Me. A. Mother. Effing. Break. This is beyond insane at this point, and it didn’t have to be this way. The interview hasn’t even happened and these people are carrying on like lunatics. I just hate that some are still being manipulated to think this was all H+M’s doing and the RF is not to blame — but they ARE Patients Zero in this entire sick, twisted saga.

    • L84Tea says:

I have this mental picture continuously happening in my head of all of them–the royals, the aides, the courtiers, the servants–running around in complete pandemonium, smashing teacups, biting on overstuffed pillows with corgi-stitched patterns, yelling “how DARE they?” up into the air, furiously googling, William shadow-boxing, Kate and Carole watching themselves cry in a sterling silver handheld mirror while both wearing tiaras…complete pandemonium. That’s honestly what it sounds like is happening over there.

    • iconoclast59 says:

This is just as vicious as Dangerous Liaisons — except Willnot and Cannot have about 0.001% of the sexiness of the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont. At their next public appearance, I would love to see them booed as vigorously as Mme. Merteuil was at the end of that film.

  40. TheOriginalMia says:

I couldn’t wait to wake up to this story. William is an idiot, surrounded by idiots. It’s been obvious for years who was leaking against Harry and Meghan, but this genius decides to sic Jason on them in a preemptive strike before the interview, thereby confirming what we all suspected. Then, because he is not smart, he has another article posted that throws Kate, Charles and Camilla under the bus. Camilla? Really? I mean…it’s laughable.

We see you, William. We know you’ve been a horrible brother. Your fingerprints are everywhere and even after getting everything you wanted, your dumbass continues to harass them. And heads up, Kate! Even after your mum out it out there that she wasn’t promoting her article in deference to poor Phil, William still chucked you under the double decker and rolled over you. He’ll destroy you & your family when he tires of you.

    • ArtHistorian says:

We ALL predicted that the royals would tell on themselves BEFORE the interview even aired. And they are, proving us right – and considering the fact that the second teaser dropped AFTER the royals lost their heads and ran to the media with an ill-thought out smear campaign, that shows that the Sussexes and Oprah also anticipated this response.

    • windyriver says:

Am still laughing that they led the charge with the earrings story. Shades of terrorist avocados and poisonous flowers in children’ wedding bouquets. May as well have run a neon flag up the flagpole with the message, “All that follows is manufactured BS”.

And that doesn’t even address the unintended stepping in poo by shining a light on other lavish gifts from the same source. There were some great twitter threads with pictures of all the goods various royal ladies have been wearing through the years, and I read something about TQ and horses…

  41. Beach Dreams says:

LOL at “Kate’s household”. William might as well tattoo his guilt on his forehead at this point. Let’s see if this is a one-time thing or if he’s going to keep pushing the blame towards her (especially post-interview). If the latter happens, Kate and Carole should start panicking.

    • ArtHistorian says:

KP is William’s household, not Kate’s. Just like CH is Charles’ household not Camilla’s and just like BP has always been the Queen’s household and never Philip’s.

      • Nic919 says:

Perhaps it is carelessness, but I wonder if mentioning Kate’s household is another hint that they live separate lives even if it’s not official.

    • MsIam says:

I’ve felt that since last year this was going to result in the Cambridges busting up. I wonder if someone tipped them off that something bad is coming out in the special and William is trying to run away as fast as possible?

    • Harper says:

William’s Household = William, Jason Knauf, Simon Case, George, Charlotte and Louis.

Kate’s Household = Kate, Carole, Pippa.

      • notasugarhere says:

Plus Tanna, Emily Andrews, the two Fail Sunday editors, and Katie Nicholl.

    • What a dilemma this must be for Carole Middleton. What to do? Stay silent out of respect for Prince Phillip’s stay in hospital or get busy calling every reporter she has on speed dial getting her ‘Kate is a victim, she’s the only one trying to save the Firm, she’s never put a foot wrong’ stories out there?

    • Liz version 700 says:

I was about to say, I would be nervous if I was Kate about the ease with which he shoves her in front of the his. He is like a 4 year old blaming his brother for stealing a cookie.

  42. LaraW” says:

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but is this the first time that the BM and/or KP has ADMITTED there was/is an active smear campaign and that they are behind it?

We’ve all been able to see the hand of various factions in the RF in the campaign but to my (non-comprehensive) knowledge, this is the first time they’ve out-and-out CONFIRMED it wasn’t just a series of “spontaneous” leaks, it wasn’t just the palace being blindsided, but a deliberate effort that they, the members of the RF, signed off on, actively orchestrated, and encouraged.

Like their “revenge” on Meghan accusing the RF of perpetuating falsehoods is to… admit guilt by setting off a circular firing squad.

    • “….setting a circular firing squad….’. That was priceless LaraW. Luckily, I’d already swallowed my coffee when I read that. I agree that the Firm has definitely been participating in a circle jerk of some kind ever since Harry met Meghan, but I think it is now turning into a circular firing squad! This is not going to end well. There is going to be a lot of blood let. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  43. Island Girl says:

As a WOC and a citizen of a former British Colony and the Commonwealth this is my perspective.
    1. This investigation/enquiry is akin to the ‘police investigating the police’ how is it that the ‘alleged bully’ is not invited to participate in the process
    2. I have ZERO time for ‘white people’ (especially white women) tears. The history of white people gaslighting black people is a very long and painful one, which still affects us psychologically. White women even gaslight us when we were being raped and sexually assaulted by their husbands, brothers, uncles and sons during slavery.
    3. If the ‘Firm’ could demonize Diana a blond hair, blue eyes aristocratic woman (whose Spencer aristocracy blood is ‘purer’ than the Windsors) I have no doubt they did the same to Meghan
    4. It is poetic justice that the son of Diana, Harry and the ancestor of a former slave, Meghan is wreaking havoc on that outdated racist and classist institution.
    #abolishthemonarchy

    • Deering24 says:

“ If the ‘Firm’ could demonize Diana a blond hair, blue eyes aristocratic woman (whose Spencer aristocracy blood is ‘purer’ than the Windsors) I have no doubt they did the same to Meghan.”

Proof positive this institution is rotten to the core. Their “supremacy” survival is _all_ they are about. There’s never been any compromise, much less winning, with them.

  44. Lizzie says:

Notice that with all of the slime everyone is throwing at Meghan that no one at all is claiming she tried to smear anyone. That says so much about her character.

I’m sure there is crisis management going on round the clock at BP as they are losing the pr war internationally and it’s probably close internally. I think they will make the queen shut this whole thing down with a ‘we love Harry and Meghan ‘ statement.

    • Sofia says:

I think it’s too late for a statement like that with BP announcing they’ll be doing an investigation.

I think if the interview is tame and/or doesn’t name names directly: BP will forget about the investigation or say it found nothing/was resolved privately

If not: they’ll make something up to demean Meghan

      • Lady D says:

The article I read stated that the results of the investigation wouldn’t be announced until mid-2022. I thought they were trying to tell H&M that if they backed off on the interview, the report wouldn’t see the light of day.

      • The Hench says:

Mid 2022???? WTF? It’s only March 2021. If the HR department were halfway competent, this should take a matter of weeks.

Once again their stupidity is on show –
BP “Let’s say it’s going to take us over a year to investigate. That will show how SERIOUSLY we are taking this incident.”
Everyone else: *rolls eyes* “No, this just shows us how incompetent/stupid/meaningless this investigation is.”

I think Meghan should start adding ‘so-called HR department’ to her statements…

      • Feeshalori says:

That’s because they have to hurriedly set up an HR department and then investigate.😉

      • Harper says:

The first one-year review fizzled out into a big nothing; the Men in Grey just love the idea of having a new, one-year review to bludgeon Meghan with in the press. All the tabs will now be copy and pasting “The Duchess of Sussex, who lives in a $14 million house in Los Angeles, is currently being investigated for bullying her staff to tears. The results of the investigation are expected in 2022” into every single article for the next year.

      • Deering24 says:

Mid-2022??!! So they can keep beating her up until they come up with somethIng else?!? Damn. These folks really play the long game—and they are incapable of not “winning.”

      • Izzy says:

Mid-2022 sounds about right… it takes time to fabricate evidence. 🙄

    • MsIam says:

I bet they will try and issue a statement like that this weekend. Some nonsense about family. But William is out of control. I wonder if he is afraid Meghan will bring up the affair? I hope these folks implode.

    • Jay says:

@Lizzie, if ONLY there was such a war room, they might have a chance at a competent response, but instead we have at least three different royal tribes locked in the world’s dumbest race to the bottom, contradicting each other, and throwing each other under the bus! It’s truly a masterclass in bad PR.

  45. February-Pisces says:

I would love to say that I can’t believe that Gollum is throwing his own wife under the bus, but unfortunately I can.

They really think plebs at that dumb, I mean “Kate, Camilla and Charles”??? It’s a real head scratcher figuring out who leaked this.

  46. Kfg says:

I’ve been saying it. Will is going to use this to divorce Kate and get everyone to hate her. Her dumb mother going and planting stories isn’t going to help. This is so sad and pathetic

  47. MsIam says:

I hope Meghan and Harry have the authority to release what was discovered during her lawsuit. Last night Omid did an interview and he said that one reason it took so long for Meghan to speak is she couldn’t say anything during the court case. I hope she lets go with both barrels from the Queen on down about what was found, including any Rose Hanbury information. Burn it all down Meghan.

  48. Vanessa says:

William is basically laying all the blame on three people who he knows wouldn’t fight back . Everyone knows that William was the lead ringer of the bullying of Meghan with Kate and her mother all to willing to help with the smeared campaign against Meghan because kate didn’t want any competition. This latest smeared campaign blown up in William and Kate and Jason face they thought that because the British tabloids we’re in their pockets and we’re all to help them bully Meghan with lies . That they could try the same ruthless tactics in America and it work they could further damage Meghan reputation but instead it backfired big time and now William is trying to save himself by throwing his wife stepmom and father under the bus like the cowardly bully he is .

    • L4frimaire says:

Think back to that “Kate the Great” Tatler article and how it was heavily revised after KPs outcry, even though KP cooperated with it. The magazine cut out whole passages because it made Kate look bad, but tellingly, left every bit of nasty wording about the Sussexes, especially Meghan in there, to this day. I hear there are still abusive racist comments and images up on KPs Instagram about Meghan right now. Let’s see if they start scrubbing.

  49. Andrew’s Nemesis says:

And Andrew is going to be investigated when?

  50. Murphy says:

Camilla doesn’t even want to be there herself, she does not give a duck.

  51. Mira says:

The last person who would do that is Camilla. She had enough bad press for a livetime and I think she wouldn’t want to interact with anyone in the Press.

    • Amy Too says:

Maybe William has been watching the Windsors on Netflix looking for ideas. Camilla the evil one, trying to break up the family and smearing Kate to Meghan and Meghan to Kate is straight from the show.

  52. MerryGirl says:

So now Bullyiam is throwing his wife, father & step-mother under the bus? Well we still have 2 days to go before the Oprah interview so I guess we have to wait for what new gems will come from him and Jason.

Regarding the bullying claims and new smear campaign against Meghan….this is nothing but a Kangaroo Court if you are just going to interview 10 current/former employees and not allow Meghan to be involved in the proceedings. Harry & Meghan should demand an external investigation and put William and the Palace on the spot. And Buckingham Palace releasing a statement about the investigation but nothing about Andrew? OK then.

  53. Watson says:

Just here for the takeshi69 comment. Lol! It made me snort out loud!!

  54. Lory says:

So the Firm takes allegations seriously huh?Meghan’s alleged bullying deserves an investigation but Andrew committing rape doesn’t. Shocking.

  55. RedWeatherTiger says:

Do the British people recognize that their royal family has NOTHING BETTER TO DO than smear and “investigate” a woman who quit them a year ago? How much TAXPAYER MONEY will be spent on this investigation? Why aren’t they all worrying at Phil’s bedside or, you know, doing something for their people who are experiencing serious economic and health crises?

And what of this “investigation”? What are they going to do, fire her? Or just produce more crazy, desperate stories for the BM? It’s truly and profoundly sickening.

  56. February-Pisces says:

Patrick J Adams from suits has just lit up twitter. Meghans friends are now really stepping up and taking no sh*t. Willie and keen I think the game is up.

    • L84Tea says:

He set Twitter ON FIRE AND BURNED IT TO THE GROUND. Good lord, he ripped the RF a new one and people are losing their minds!

  57. Ann says:

William will be king in his mid to late 40s. And no one will care.

  58. Meg says:

Didn’t meghan and harry say they dont communicate with royal rota anymore so any insidery quotes or info supposedly from their camp actually isnt from them- in order to preemptively object to any stories like this BS or am i misunderstanding?

  59. DeeDee says:

The RF is the worst at PR and business in general. They’ve treated this whole thing as if we were still in the 90s. They won’t know what hit them when people really come out in defense of Meghan. Patrick J Adams (suits co-star) just defended Meghan in a long Twitter thread where he directly called out the RF. I believe Harry and Meghan never gave their friends and acquaintances the permission to speak but the Oprah interview spells out the end to that. This is just the beginning.

All the firm had to do was to tell William to suck it up and explain how having Harry and Meghan would cement his future. The 4 of them could have bought the monarchy a few more centuries but by all means burn it all down. Throughout it’s lifetime the monarchy had to reign in much more difficult Kings but they couldn’t handle a ffk? I hope this is an example of the market regulating itself lol

    Hope I’m not thread jacking

  60. gm says:

About those “borrowed ” earring, Lainey Gossip explains that and apparently as a wedding gift they are owned not by M & H but by the crown. So whether she knew or not , they are not hers and the property of the crown. So has the crown returned them?
What else over the decades, especially during the time the Queen has been Queen, has been gifted by bad people?

    • notasugarhere says:

Camilla has multiple Saudi-gifted jewels, Kate’s emerald set is likely from them, and Sophie has a set from another dictator (Bahrain?).

    • lanne says:

They have brought scrutiny to a good 70% of their jewelry collection. That’s the funniest part to me. Now anytime the Queen, Camilla, or Kate wear jewelry, it’s provenance will be discussed. I hope they are retiring a lot of pieces. Otherwise, the discussion over the jewelry will overshadow whatever event they are promoting. Talk about shooting yourself in the face!

      • boyd says:

LOL That’s what I was thinking. Hmm Just what do they have in their collection???.
Think about Meghan feeling watched. They actually wrote down she was wearing those earrings.. I believe they were spied on daily and wrote reports on them daily..

      • Liz version 700 says:

That is such a good point! And so so funny

  61. Jessie says:

I think it’s obvious that Meghan knows William was the driving force behind everything. There’s nothing a narcissist hates more than being called out and that’s likely what happened here – Meghan saw William for exactly who he is and refused to stand for it. This is why he’s so determined to break her, and IMO the reason why he’s using Piers Morgan as his proxy in the press. The two of them are both sexually obsessed with Meghan and because they can’t have her, they’re obsessed with ruining her instead. And I’m just SO happy that it’s not going to work.

  62. Carolind says:

Notasugarhere – Agree with every word you say about Charles.

I also cannot see Camilla briefing against Meghan – not her style.

Kate, to me, also treated Charles and Camilla like dirt until Meghan hit the scene. She and William totally ignored them on palace balconies and did not give them their place.

  63. Qtpi says:

I can’t help but think about Diana. How devastating it would be to see her two boys like this. How different so many things would have been if she had lived. Some for the bad I am sure – she wasn’t completely innocent either (behavior wise).

  64. boyd says:

    Enjoyed the funny comments,

  65. Noor says:

Prince Harry should request the Queen to conduct a probe on the various palace leaks that happened in 2018 to date.

Royals depend on popular support from the public. The public know the royals only from newspaper articles. If these articles are largely negative then the said royal reputation will be damaged.

A published survey conducted from May 2018 to Jan 2019 showed that Meghan received 43% negative articles compared to the 8% negatives received by Kate Middleton.

This is truly nice to see: https://people.com/royals/meghan-markle-abigail-spencer-defends-against-untruths-amid-bullying-allegations/

I’m glad so many of her friends and past work colleagues are speaking out on her behalf!

That is truly heartening! So good that she has supportive friends.

Bullyiam Cambridge (very aptly coined by MerryGirl above) will stop at nothing; pretending to be squeaky clean, the Duke and Duchess of Scambridge. Shame on their jealous, racist selves.

If anyone wants to see a PERFECT breakdown of the double standard when it comes to coverage of Meghan and Kate…

The Queen should in her investigation include the following :

    1. Why palace staff called Meghan by cruel and sexist names such as MeGain, degree wife etc.

Naming calling is bullying . When they leaked to the press they meant to encourage the public to hate Meghan and viewed her in negative light.

2.Did Senior Palace staff and even the royals encourage these damaging and bullying leaks to the press .

    3. Why no action taken to stop the palace leakage to the press on Meghan which is a form of bullying to damage her reputation and public standing.

  69. Noor says:

To continue, the Queen should also include in her investigation :

    4. To what extent did the stress and tension felt by palace staff were due to the fact that they are reporting to multiple bosses, Prince William, Kate , Prince Harry and Meghan.

It is poor corporate decision on the Palace part not to recognise the structural and hierarchical imbalance, tension and stress inherent in having staff report to multiple bosses especially when the bosses themselves are not of equal rank and seniority.

    5. To what extent is the staff negative perception of Meghan due to the fact that they are influenced by the tabloid heavily negative and cruel reporting on Meghan.

For eg The Times wrote that the palace sources said that Meghan ” wanted to be a victim so her ‘ unbearable experience’ would convince Harry they had to leave UK”

Are the Palace staff qualified to make such damaging statements ? Are they merely regurgitating consciously or unconsciously what they have already read in numerous press articles written by royal commentators and journalists that Meghan played the victim and led Prince Harry astray etc.

In publishing the palace staff allegations did the Times of London exercise due diligence to separate fact from fiction. The Times of London has the power to shape public opinions and therefore has a public responsibility to report facts and not merely state my sources said this or that.
