Individuals of all ages are now eligible to register for the LEED Green Associate exam.

The LEED Green Associate is your gateway to green, and it demonstrates an up-to-date understanding of the core concepts of LEED®.

By allowing individuals of all ages the opportunity to gain a LEED Green Associate credential, students may use the credential to secure a job in a building trade or related field, while others may use it as a mark of achievement after taking a green building or related course.

Green building education has become mainstream—college and K–12 level courses such as those found on Learning Lab, USGBC’s new online education platform for K–12 educators, are increasingly using LEED in curriculum. Many courses now include LEED rating systems and core concepts as teaching materials—and furthermore, LEED Lab courses are now being offered at 19 higher education institutions around the globe.

The LEED Green Associate exam measures fundamental knowledge of LEED’s concepts, but it does not measure competency in any single green building job. Therefore, it is well suited to college and high school students who wish to demonstrate their knowledge of green building core concepts. By the way, the exam only costs $100 for students (that’s 50 percent off).
