Wetland Plant Identification Workshop  Saturday, May 30, 2015, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Big Swamp Nature Preserve 1161 Greenwich East Townline Road New London, OH, Huron County Join us for a day of exploring Big Swamp’s flora with John Katko, former Friends of Wetlands (FOWL) President. The morning starts with indoor presentations followed by a bring your own bag lunch. After lunch we will visit and explore the Big Swamp area searching out sedges and other wetlands plants. Dress for the weather. Bring your boots, waders, mosquito nets, bug spray,magnifying loupe, lunch, water bottle, notebook, and field guides. Directions: Click HERE for a Google map. Look for the OWA Event sign. You will take a long driveway back to a geodesic dome to the designated parking area. Spring Cleaning Your Garden?
 We are gladly accepting native plants in need of a home for our Annual Wetlands Gala & Meeting on June 6, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Last years native plant sale was a huge success and we hope you will participate again this year.Just bring your native plant donations along with you to the Gala or email us at info@OHwetlands.org to arrange for a pickup.  Join us for our Annual Wetlands Gala & Meeting
Saturday, June 6, 2015, 2 to 8 p.m. 190 Sipple Avenue Amherst, OH Lorain County We are hosting our annual Wetlands Gala on Saturday June 6th in Amherst at the home of the organization’s president, Ray Stewart. The general public is invited to the Gala whose festivities start at 2 p.m. and include: * Silent Auction (donations appreciated)
* Native Plant Sale (donations appreciated) * Pot Luck Dinner, bring a dish to share * short OWA Annual Meeting * Rain Garden Tours * Live Musical Entertainment by: Dave Lengyel,
Robbin Stratton, Ray Stewart, Kathy Lynn, & Jim Kozel All event proceeds benefit wetland conservation. Silent auction items are gladly received at any time of year and this spring be sure to pot up a few plants to donate to our fundraiser native plant sale.
