BOISE, Idaho _ Firefighters arriving at a burning house in Idaho last night say they heard what sounded like calls for help from inside.

Once they got the flames contained, they found the source of the calls: two parrots.

The firefighters say the birds were actually saying “Help!” and “Fire!”

KBOI-TV reports that fire crews got the birds out of the house and gave them oxygen. They’re expected to be OK.

No people were inside the house in Middleton, which is west of Boise.

The cause of the fire in is under investigation.
