1. Fort Bragg Fair: The fair continues through May 14 at the Fort Bragg Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission includes unlimited carnival rides and live entertainment. General admission is $14 Monday through Friday, $19 Saturday and Sunday; discounts for military and DoD civilians with ID, children. For more information, call 396-9126.

2. Field of Honor: The opening ceremony for the North Carolina Field of Honor is May 20 at 11 a.m. The annual event features hundreds of flags in front of the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in downtown Fayetteville. The flags honor veterans, living or deceased, and current military members. Flags are available for $25 per honoree.  The flags will stay up through June 30. 3. Blast from the Past: The Cumberland County Council on Older Adults will hold the fourth annual Blast From the Past fundraiser benefiting Meals on Wheels and other programs benefiting seniors. The event is Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Bordeaux Convention Center.  Sponsorships and ticket purchases include a buffet dinner, cash bar, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, DJ and photo booth. 4. Downtown traffic: Motorists in the downtown area on Saturday should be aware of runners participating in a Cinco de Mayo 5k. Expect congestion between 6:30 and 11:30 a.m.
