As we honor Black History Month, AFCEA is excited to spotlight some of the amazing leaders in our community. Join us as we celebrate their contributions both to the association and to their fields of work. Kicking things off with Kameke M., chief of contracts, Commercial Services Office, United States Space Force. As the chief of contracts, Mitchell is currently standing up an office in the National Capital Region to serve as the focal point for the procurement of commercial space-related services. Mitchell is an AFCEA member at large and an active leader in our Women in AFCEA community. Her many contributions to the association have earned her our Meritorious Service, Emerging Leader and Distinguished Young AFCEAN awards. Among her many career accomplishments, Mitchell’s most proud of her work as a mentor. “When I speak with mentees that are progressing in their careers using the tools I shared with them and creating their own magic—this is truly the gift that keeps on giving.” Favorite inspirational quote: “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” - Shirley Chisholm #BlackHistoryMonth #MyAFCEA #AFCEA #WomenInAFCEA #BlackHistoryMonth2022
