#48in48: Tell us your stories

#48in48: Saskatchewan’s transplant program urging people to make their organ donation wishes known in the event of their death.

At least 4,300 Canadians are currently waiting for an organ transplant.

More than 90 per cent of Canadians support organ donation, yet on average, 230 Canadians die each year waiting for a transplant.

Last year Global BC partnered with BC Transplant for the #48in48 campaign to sign up 48,000 new organ donors in 48 hours. This campaign resonated with many people and across the country, Canadians shared their stories.

Global News joins LiveOn.ca this year in honour of National Organ and Tissue Awareness Week. For 2015, the campaign is going country-wide in hopes of getting Canadians to register their decision over a 48-hour-period starting Monday, April 20.
