Female suspect wanted in armed carjacking at Marlborough Mall

CALGARY – Police are asking for help from the public to identify and locate a female suspect involved in a violent carjacking on Wednesday.

Officers were called to a Shoppers Drug Mart in 3800 block of Memorial Drive N.E. just after 10 a.m. after receiving reports that a woman had forced a driver out of her vehicle at gun point.

Police say the stolen vehicle still had one passenger inside at the time; a 48-year-old woman with cerebral palsy.

The woman, who suffers from mobility issues, was later located in the 5000 block of Marbank Drive S.E. where she was assessed by EMS and determined to be uninjured.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian woman between 30 and 40 years old with long brown hair in a ponytail. She is described as having a heavy build, was wearing a grey hoodie, a grey winter jacket with a fur-lined hood, and black bants and brown shoes.

Police are searching for a blue 2007 Toyota RAV4 with Alberta plates ZSK727.
